stop using the "casual player base" as a scapegoat. unless you have some facts to back it up, generalizing will not help your argument.

many casual also dislike the dumbing down.

They're catering to what they believe the "casual playerbase" is, being told "WE'RE REALLY NOT THAT STUPID!" by said casual playerbase, and are still pumping out some of the absolute worst class design I've seen in two decades of MMOs.
