One of my 2 Retainers does not level up

As I said in the Title. One of my retainers does not level up.
I have a Bard at lvl 90 and in the Retainer Window it says "Max rank lvl 95".
It's the same level my Char has now. That's how it should be. And this Retainer is getting leveling points from his Ventures.
However, My second Retainer, a Black Mage, is also lvl 90. In his window it says "Max rank lvl 90" and he does not get any leveling points from Ventures. When he comes back from a Venture it says he is at Max lvl.
I have sent them on 2 Ventures. One Quick and one for 18 Hours.
In both cases it was the same result. The Bard leveld up and the Black Mage did not.
Does anyone know what's going on here?

Your retainers can only get exp to your corresponding job, in other words you have leveled bard to 95 but haven't touched black mage yet, so the BLM retainer will not level.
