Pleasantly surprised by Vali EX heal checks

After clearing this Extreme, I will say that the heal checks felt very chaotic and forced me to use my whole kit. I don't know what will happen once the static I found masters the dance, but I wouldn't be surprised if I found myself mashing Broil more as we try to optimize.

A competent pure healer can reverse every mechanic’s damage with a competent shield healer mitigating without breaking their Broil/Glare spam. Heck, if the pure healer is incompetent, the barrier healer can just do it themselves now.

It’s fun when everyone is 690ilvl, as their HP is so low, damage can be lethal. But by 700ilvl? There’s so much defense, HP, and healing power EX1 (and EX2) are a joke.

I praised the team at first for a “fun EX” and thinking it was a portent of future design.

I guess “TBF”: EX2 doesn’t actually have any real healing to do. Like the first phase, the only actual damage is opening Actualize and another Actualize 1.5min later. Vollok/Synch doesn’t do any damage. Blade Warp followed by Yellow Marker and Actualize just use the cooldowns you’ve been sitting on.

Triumph is all positioning, giving ample to recover your cooldowns. Conga Line only requires mitigation at the beginning, then standard abilities for the rest. A WHM can easily solo heal that section with their abilities. Then the jump gimmick phase has so much downtime between damage, that your abilities come back in time.

EX2 overall is a bit of snore healwise.

Edit: I may be a bad healer, but Conga Line (and EX1’s Lightning Feathers) are the only time I use Seraphism coz…extra regen?

I will admit, Seraphism makes Ex1 puddle stack and proximity aoe an absolute joke. At least the tank swap mechanic feels like it requires a regen healer considering how frequent the heavy damage is. Then again, I never know how much my team is mitigating.

Even at bis gear currently the trials are still pretty fun and demanding but certain healers certainly take the cake in terms of making it easy. *sage I'm looking at you*

I was still never pressured or forced to use GCD healing as a WHM if my party was mitigating well as a whole. Nothing's changed, even if the encounter design still feels better I'm still just mashing glare and weaving in heals or damage neutral GCD heals - I swapped off after like my 5th reclear to play DPS and 40+ kills later I'm still having fun and looking at the shortage of healers in PF and how contentious DPS slots are, everyone else feels the same.

It is insane how overpowered scholar is. It does quite literally everything better than other healers, the only thing it doesn't have is raid buffs. If it did I reckon we would see much more double scholar in harder content.

SCH has the strongest raid buff of the 4 healers
