Dawntrail Story so far(Third Zone) minor spoilers.

First post ever so please bear with me

First and foremost wanted to say that while I have been enjoying Dawntrail overall and I absolutely loved how Endwalker settled things with some minor caveats...So far I think Dawntrail has been a little disappointing in terms of the foundation of a new story versus what ARR set up. It's hard to explain but I feel like the theme could have been better pushed to the player.

I'll try to keep it short and minor spoilers but overall the Dawnservant is so far my favorite character by far. The shipwright in the First Zone is also a favorite(I really enjoy unique characters) and the Dawnservant's children have been pretty good as well though the First is my favorite of them.

Wuk Lamat is quite tolerable for me except her naivety got cringe level sometimes and really wish the story would have put her in a situation where she learned the world isn't really sunshine and rainbows.

Lastly I feel like they should have added Y'shtola and G'hara 100 percent to the story in the beginning. I know they have been in the limelight but.... I would have especially loved to see Y'shtola's reaction to the shipwright and G'hara would have made the story so far a lot more dimensional.

I would have preferred if they just made the new characters more compelling. Quite frankly, I'm bored of Graha and Yshtola and their lack of any development. I went into this expansion excited to see what adventuring with our new crew of Wuk Lamat, Erenville, and Krile would be like.

Unfortunately, turns out Wuk Lamat is lazily written and boring and her trope-y character development serves as the centerpiece of 99% of conversations. Any time we're not focusing on her childish life lessons or the latest hole she's comically fallen into is when I'm enjoying Dawntrail, but those are very few and far between.

I wish they had given her something, anything to add intrigue to her character. Maybe a dark secret, maybe an unique skill or a pivotal moment in her life that changed her...So far it's been little else but her naivety, love of peace and sometimes near cringe levels of optimism.

Yeah, I was really hoping she had more selfish motivations that would eventually come to light. I wish I could tell you she gets better or that the story eventually moves on from focusing so much on her...
