    Reaper lower levels is rough but no where near as bad as viper. At least by level 50 you have the weakness debuff and gauge spender, it's not great but it's the basic filler damage rotation you take into level 90.
    Viper just doesn't really feel like an actual job until level 80 because at that level you gave your core rotation.

    This class is so lazy. Like, not playability, the way it's designed. Like out of box, it's incredible how everything they do is just like, A Samurai Thing, or a Reaper Thing, with a little touch of A Gunbreaker Thing

    It feels like they tried as hard as they could to build a class without having to design anything. And the button bloat is again just insane. Even with the paging combos, it's ridiculous how much space I need to do one general sphere of thing. Reaper is also horrible about this where they had only *3* buff buttons, which just totally breaks my button logic. No other class was like it. Except for Viper!

    Well, at least their combo buttons actually page, and not "I can't play Reaper because they decided you shouldn't be able to page weapon combos." My buttons simply don't work without that. To see it on Viper is extremely annoying. Is it Strictly Forbidden or not, SE?

    My only issue with the class at the moment, while level 84, is that Twinfang and Twinblood's animation locks are INSANE considering they want you to double weave these two ogcds between Dreadwinder/Pit of Dread combos. I'm having to tap the first one and then HARD mash the second one just to get the game to register that I've hit it. I'd say I have about a 50% chance of both going off without clipping my gcd, and there are times when the second button just flat out doesn't register. It can be very frustrating. For reference, I sit between 85-120ish ping.

    I like the idea of Viper.
    A job where you don't have too many buttons but you are constantly inputting and weaving. It's literally the only type of burst job I like it's very reminiscent of the busy enhancement shaman class in WoW. Don't press too many buttons but you are constantly pressing buttons.
    The approach was just so confusing with viper, hopefully the more time we have with it the more we can pin point the issues and hopefully have CBU3 patch them.

    I have no issues with the job and I think it's pretty well designed once you get used to it. The level scaling issue is the same for every job, if you mention this to a black mage they might collectively crash the servers from the weight of their tears. I do think they need to rework the tooltips though, they're also kind of getting bloated on other jobs too. Actually in general they could really just use a whole "job tutorial system" for everything.

    So far i'm loving Viper. I'm still lvling but so far i got 3 small gripes with it.
    1) the small gap after Dreadwinder/Pit of Dread. There's a long GCD with nothing to press. Just feels a bit off but its a minor nitpick for me.
    2) The way the skills are changing into eachother makes keybinding kinda annoying for me. I have everything lined up well but then whenever i go into reawakened my Generation combo is all over the place.
    3) The Job gauge really needs to be changed. The Serpent's offering gauge isfine, the Rattling coils are fine. But the swords lighting up make it a lot more confusing rather than just looking at your hotbars. But I don't really wanna stare at hotbars non stop either.

    As for changes. They should just get rid ofthe swords colouring after every hit. Instead they should just fully colour either left or right to show which button to press and then glow green or red to mark which positional to use.

    I spent hours last night trying to figure out a good way to put the abilities on my controller bar that made sense. It’s so far removed from all other dps classes I could not figure a good layout. Maybe I’ll have better luck today, but im doubtful. I understand they are trying to remove button bloat, but I just could not understand the chain of skills since I cannot assign then all to the bar. I had the same issue as pictomancer at first but I jumped into Palace of the Dead and ran that up to lvl 60 and it clicked. Viper I get 4 buttons til lvl 55… wtf!?! And the context windows make little sense, like half the screen of explanation the box does not explain what half of the specialized terms do. Need a glossary in the action help menu or something.

    So it's the usual "I don't like the job so it must be changed" kinda thread. How about you just leave it to the people who actually enjoy it? I'm not the biggest fan of the whole rotation thing in general but at least the job feels somewhat different considering the rigid battle system SE is working under.

    Here's my problem...

    I usually put all my single target stuff on the bottom bar, basic 1 through =
    Then I put my AOEs on the middle bar, Shift + 1 through =
    And then weird special stuff on the top bar, Ctrl + 1 through =

    With the way the new combos work, I have to put an extra copy of Serpent's Tail, Twinfang, and Twinblood on both bars b/c that button turns into a single target Finisher or an AOE finisher depending. They "got rid" of the button bloat, by giving us multi-use buttons we have to put all over our bars anyway.
