LOL I thought the same at the start but doing quest for Nathanos in Zandalar was fun! For me at least, because although obnoxious, I like him, like Gaius calling me Heroe but with deep distate on his voice
And to be perfectly honest, since rarely anything is actually original, I don't mind anyone copying stories from other media, as long as they do a good job with the material

How could Zoraal Ja have a son? I haven't seen a single Mamool Ja in Alexandria. Did he clone himself? (Why tho, makes no sense.) Can Mamool Jas procreate with different species but the offspring takes on none of the genetic features of the non-lizard parent?
This random child took me out of the story so much because his entire existence made zero sense to me. It was evident that he was just thrown in for the sake of making you Feel Big Things, but executed in the worst conceivable way. (I can't even put into words what I felt during the scene after the Zoraal Ja trial. It weren't the feelings the writers had intended.)
But that they didn't even bother to give a thinly veiled explanation where he even came from.... or did I miss something?

Another puzzling and unexplained plot point.

Maybe the princess likes to get freaky, idk. She is a magic levin-stone robot, maybe she can became a lizard waifu or something. I was also very confused, because they explicitly state multiple times Zoraal Ja is the only of his kind within the barrier, so there's no female of his species there.

Tural isnt much different compared to Radzathan and its surroundings. The story is probably the most boring out of all expansions so far, so many things are revolved around being a maid to the new protagonist.

Come to think of it, there are some strangely specific similarities right now. We get a highly hyped and wildly successful expansion tying up a storyline that's been in the making for a whole decade or longer (Legion/Endwalker), then go on (Battle for Azeroth/Dawntrail) to experience a sharp drop in quality in a story that features a fantasy version of South America, where we meet a scaly king who is becoming less capable as a ruler in his old age but remains a charismatic character and a strong warrior, as well as his teenage daughter who's being heavily pushed as a worthy successor by the story while many players don't find her compelling as a character...

...say, does Gulool Ja Ja die horribly while Wuk Lamat watches? It's okay to spoil me on this one.

Im still fairly early at Yak Tel but yea its been pretty lackluster so far. I don't get why the twins are even there as they contribute nothing while i do all the legwork and then stand around in the background during cutscenes. Im not as opposed to Wuk as everyone else seems to be but i think it would be a better story if it started out as just us, Wuk and Erenville exploring and becoming best buds with Krile in the background. They just seem scared to make any major moves and have to include these characters for fan service. If its a new story give us a new squad with cameos from the scions.

Personally i also think the names of places and characters are just ridiculous, i get what they are trying to do culturally but if no one can spell, pronounce or remember a single name then its gone too far.

I also assumed he was a clone, and there would be some kind of "creating clones of himself to feed on their souls", and that the whole son thing was something people just assumed, but it wasn't. But I remember seeing a few Mamool Ja in Solution Nine. 30 years is long enough to fuck around.

I actually thought about something similar too for a moment. That it was part of his soul that had split off. Like his good, innocent part or whatever. How? No idea. What even makes sense in this story...

I kept asking myself every cutscene why half the scions are even with us on this adventure. They don't even offer their advice 99% of the time?
My friend suggested it just was them including everyone so they don't have to do any reintroductions down the line. I guess? Just seems like a waste to me.

To be honest any Scion even as unhelpful as they may be is a breath of fresh air... and I know how odd it sounds considering how many journeys and adventures we experienced with them, never the less each and everyone is a breath of fresh air and wholeheartedly welcomed just so we can escape from needy Wuk Lamat for just 30 seconds, after which she sure will remind us that she is here.
