This quote of the journalist explains the whole article.
Me too, Erenville, me too
Wuk Lamat is okay but I feel the article writer is more interested in her English VA then her character.
Whelp I just got to the part where our WoL leaves a little kid paralyzed even though we know how to cure it. So... that's not frustrating at all and didn't leave me seething fussing at my monitor about how we cured...The kid that was about to turn into a sineater, the kobold kid that was tempered by titan, countless soldiers and beast tribes that were tempered by Fandaniel's plan / towers
Please tell me we fix this and the writers aren't completely ignorant of Shadowbringers / Endwalker... please please tell me we fix this b/c I absolutely despise this story due to many reasons, but this is seriously the cherry on top, I really don't want to hate this story anymore...
The kid with lightning paralysis in Solution 9. Thats a physical problem, not something the porxie treatment can do anything about.Whelp I just got to the part where our WoL leaves a little kid paralyzed even though we know how to cure it. I just did it, it's levinsickness and it's specifically told that it's due to aetherical imbalance, which can be fixed by porxie's. That's the point of the porxie treatment and the issue with the people in the first as well as when anyone gets tempered. The kid's aetherical make up is imbalanced to lightning.
The statement was the regulators can't cure it b/c it's an illness, she didn't say b/c it's a physical illness.
[EDIT] Also, the illness takes on the physical symptoms due to the lightning aetherical imbalance from what she said. He's paralyzed because an imbalanced to lightning.

I just finished the story and I will say that there are a few plotholes, but they're not something that can be ignored. For instance, the WoL literally saved not only the entire star, but the entire universe. However, the NPCs in Tural are like "You saved the star?! When LOL!" Was tural just not affected by what happened in EW with everyone literally turning into monsters?
There is a similar article on Kotaku where the author straight up admits to not even having played it yet.I just saw this article this morning.

...Ok buddy.Shocking nobody, however, the fanbase is hardly unanimous on the matter. Dawntrail haters have two major problems. The first is Wuk Lamat. Yes, some of these people just hate Wuk Lamat! I cannot understand it but a lot of negative reviews are criticizing the character many other players adore.
I never posted here and never cared enough to see the discussions here, but I just finished the 4th zone and I just really need to get this out of my chest.
The MSQ is so bad that I don't even wanna compare it to ARR or SB. In ARR I actually had fun despite it being slow because I was learning about the game and there was actually quite a bit of events going on where I had my agency as an actual character. While I do agree ARR has bad story with too many meaningless fetch quests, it did give me a lot of immersion experiences as the opening chapter for a MMO. SB also bored me but even in SB I did not skip a cutscene and was still mildly entertained overall.
DT I had to force myself playing to the extent I was boredom eating (didn't know that was a thing until I saw another comment in this thread doing the same). I just couldn't focus on the story and as someone who has never skipped, I just had to start skipping for my own sanity, and I am not even trying to rush it, just been playing it a couple hours every night. This did not just happen to me as well, every single member of our FC (at least those who are still playing) skipped the majority of the story and this morning one member who just started DT asked me if it's him or is this expansion just that boring, and I had to tell him "nope, everyone I know feels the same and if you go check reddit and the official forum you can find tons of posts hating the story".
I saw someone mentioning this feels like an intern's work. I have to disagree. An intern, while lacking some experiences, most likely would devote themself to the story and coming up with something creative or inspiring to prove their worth. I think the story writing in this expansion is pure laziness. More likely coming from a somewhat tenured writer who does not care about this game nor has any serious ambition, and all they want to do is to write out the bare minimum and get paid.
While this is a MSQ thread I also want to air out that at this point I don't think MSQ is the only thing being done with laziness. Many different aspects especially the job design and the overall system are just people doing the bare minimum and slacking off. This is definitely not the same game that rose from ashes 10 years ago.
"Oh SHOCK, some people don't like a character that other people DO like! I simply can't understand! How can you not like something if others do???"Shocking nobody, however, the fanbase is hardly unanimous on the matter. Dawntrail haters have two major problems. The first is Wuk Lamat. The fact that this is so mind-boggeling to her is wild. How does she cope with people having different opinions in daily life?
