    FFXI-FFXIV Besieged

    Whats FFXI Besieged?

    Enter a part of a city and beastmen enemies come from the outside and attack other NPCs and try to take claim of part of your city, limiting your special bonuses you may have. Enemies come in as waves. Think of it as large scale hamlet.

    Now these ideas are my own.

    FFXIV Besieged

    Every starting City will have a Besieged Area.

    South Ul'dah
    North Shroud
    North Limb

    These areas aren't linked with the main city we are walking around now, these will be extra zones that will open when there is a event time.

    Each of these areas can be attacked by Garlean's & Beastmen of there region.

    DoL can summit items that appear ??? when a enemy dies. Boosts NPC attacks.

    DoH can repair walls and summit bonuses to NPC's.

    DoW/DoM can battle enemies.

    How to win...? Stay alive for 50mins or slay all enemies or leader boss.

    How to lose... Enemies will try to kill major npc's and try to claim the special Aethright.

    (What happens if we lose Aethright? Lose Free Airship and Anima gainned in Hamlet/Auto Anima gain is smaller and slower. You also lose the special Aethright and will need to obatin it as a server from there stronghold.) (This only effects the Region and what Grand Company you are with.)

    Taking back Special Aethright... will be in a room guarded by some hard lv50-99 mobs. These enemies do not heal back once you damage them. These Enemies are in "Battlefield" areas like Ifrit/Garuda. Only 8~??18? can enter in.

    New type of points to be used to buy new gear & be able to convert into seals.
    Feeds more Hamlet points into the hamlet point before it starts up again. Will be needed for lv3+ Hamlet runs. Players can also get Small kidney stones & w/e from this.

    Extra Details

    Lv45+ Only

    Let bunch of servers enter this zone. 2 servers per room, change server selection-random.

    Highlight/Bold other players names that are from another sever ingame.

    50-100 player limit.

    Event triggers every day, mostly triggers at random, based on at enemy strongholds. NM kills/Enemy kills/ etc.

    Remove Trade/Bazzer/(Bazzer Repair also) options.

    More like massive-lag-and-super-random-disconnects-sieged. Call me when 2.0's game engine is confirmed as capable of handling the large number of objects and players Besieged would have involved. Until then, no thanks.

    Note: I understand the desire for something large scale like Besieged, but MMOs simply have not been able to handle such a thing in all the years I've been playing them. Lineage II castle sieges were super lagtastic and horrible fps. WoW's sole large scale event, the opening of the gates of Ahn'Qiraj, also created super lag, random DCs, getting killed by stuff that couldn't even load on the screen and so on. FFXI fared no better because of the shenannigans that took place in Besieged, including random DCs, not getting credit for the battle, zone lockouts and getting killed by stuff that hadn't even loaded on your screen.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    I'd love content like FFXI's Besiedge or Campaign, that you could jump into at any time, leave at anytime and did not require a party.

    It could easily be done and have GC seals as a reward
