I made an account to talk about this (please forgive any formatting mistakes), so I'm glad to see I'm not alone when it comes to finding the changes to Face 3 in particular just...horrible.
I wish I had taken more pictures to compare directly but looking at side-by-sides it's really obvious the eye shape is different now, almost like our eyes are half-closed all the time and it makes the facial expressions look awful. Not to mention the strangeness with the lips.

it's kind of embarrassing to admit, and I know I'll get mocked, but after seeing how she looked in cutscenes and how awful the face and expressions were I cried. I've had to change to Hrothgar just to keep playing but seeing all the changes to Elezen have really been demotivating...I don't know what else to say. I just want my character back.

I get that it's totally subjective, but to hear that someone physically shed tears over their character that looks universally better by every perceivable metric, in a glow-up far more significant than the overwhelming majority of other comparisons I've seen in their own example that is supposedly trying to demonstrate the opposite is baffling to the nth degree. I understand why the forums have the reputation they do.

That's not meant to make fun of you for crying or whatever, you have a right to feel however you want to feel. But that is a very, very shocking response. I hope you come to enjoy your new femhroth.

Now imagine not being able to play the game at all anymore due to severe eye strain caused by the new graphics.

That is the situation some people (including me) are living now. 6+ years of bonding with WoL and the Scions, down the drain. I don't mean to sound overly emotional, but it really does feel like your friends being taken away from you.

I honestly understand your reaction. I wasn't crying but my opinion on how my characters look was swinging like a pendulum and I needed to take a step back multiple times. I timed my subscription so that I can enjoy the end of EW and dip my toes into DT which turned out to be the right call because I will be taking a step away from the game again. I connect to the game through my characters, and I am very attached to them, so the changes did not land well for me even if they're objectively a net positive. I know negative feedback and opinions is something not everyone wants to hear about on the forums, especially on this topic when they like the update, and until now I have kept to myself as well to not anger the crowd. But I am hoping by adding my voice to the pool of people unhappy with the way their characters look the dev team considers some kind of compromise such as adding more diverse facial options.

Very long-winded way of saying I understand and support you. I appreciate you for speaking your mind. And I hope you're doing better now with femhroth.

There is no reason for being unkind or making fun of someone who is attached to his Virtual Character. Except being stupid.
There is a Billion Dollar Industry creating cute, sexy, funny, weird Characters for People who play these Games or watch Series or Movies.
Again, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Enjoy the game with your Character as much as you can.

Do not let yourselves be gaslit. There is nothing "objectively good" about these changes. Art style and impression are always more important than things like texture resolution and polygon count. The impression of my WoLs face has been destroyed for no good reason; do not expect me to be happy because "the lighting is better" (it's not, btw)

Like others have said, I've lost my motivation completely to Gpose or do really anything at all with how severe this change was. I wish my character had ended up only with a slight weird difference or similar, but this is imposter-levels and isn't the same character. I chose Face 4 and this specific config so they'd look older, and now they look 16 and proportionally very strange. I don't want to change races because of attachment and that I'm a roleplayer, so this has me pretty bummed out and unmotivated to actually play.

I've posted this elsewhere on the forum, too, and really need it to be known that this face is nowhere near the same shape, proportions, or really anything I loved at character creation.
