This version of BLM is not only more difficult to play than previously but also the least versatile it's been since 3.0-3.1.
The changes to MP regen should be reverted entirely or changed to a system where every and any GCD cast within UI gives the same amount of MP regen as an MP tick gave in EW. The former is still the best overall system for every player. Tying MP regen to spells actually heightens the skill floor instead of lowering it. MP regen tied to GCDs only benefits good players, if you're so willing to cater to casuals. We really, really didn't need this changed after nearly 11 years...
Ice Paradox needs to return.
Fire 2 and High Fire 2 NEEDS TO BE BUFFED. Currently as it stands, every single AoE rotation from level 50 does NOT use F2 nor HF2 whilst in AF. It is so bad in fact, a hard cast Flare does MORE DAMAGE than High Fire 2 even if Flare only did the 40% reduced damage. 108 vs 100 potency per second on 3 targets. F2 needs to go back to 100 potency minimum (preferably 110-120) and HF2 should also go back to a minimum of 140 potency.
Square Enix proved to us they rushed out these changes and gave an absolutely stinker of a reason for them.
Never forget the biggest joke of this expansion: "Due to the complexity of Astral Fire and Umbral Ice mechanics, we felt that the learning curve for black mage's actions and rotations was too steep when compared with other jobs. We've made a number of adjustments to remedy this issue."
