Honestly for me, deleting origin/epic launcher fixed my fps drop issues.. or at least definitely helped.. if you are having issues try uninstall those.

I dont know if i have the fps issues since launch, maybe since the latest patch. Before that i constantly had 143-144 fps (locked for gsync) in Shirogane. Now it variates around 105 to 144. Its really annoying because i am very sensitive when it comes to microstuttering. Even at max fps i can see a bit of microstuttering when i run sidewards along a fence or wall looking directly at it. Or while some dungeon bosses when they do certain attacks. You can really feel the microstutter/slowdown. Tried everything, lowering every setting, switching between the newly added upscalers, disable second monitor, update drivers, re-check bios settings. Even some advises here from the users (thanks for that, i really appreciate tips that could help), but nothing helps. Either my system is broken or something changed since dawntrail that caused that issue... I really hope Square looks into threads like this and they investigate. Because nothing else changed on my side since DT.

Had problems with stuttering since day 1, it looked random at first but it was happening during some bosses skills, like the claw in m1s.
My pc spec shouldn't have any problem running the game. Ryzen 7700x and a 4080 super, installed in a m.2 and i have 32ram at 5200mhz
Tried a lot of thing to fix the stuttering and while i did manage to solve it for a day, it came back the next time i booted the game.
What i noticed using RTSS is that the frametime wasnt stable at all, was hovering between 6.9 and 7.1 and the only time i manage to solve my stuttering the frametime was stable at 6.9.
Im capping the ingame FPS to my monitor refresh rate using the ingame setting and today i decided to disable the ingame fps cap and force it using RTSS.
And the frametimes became stable again and had 0 stuttering in m3s during all the fight, game was stable at 144fps without dips with everything maxed.
This looks like it fixed my stuttering problem so anyone with the same issues can try using rivatuner to cap their fps. (i did try using nvidia fps limiter but the game complety ignores it for me.)
I just did this, coincidentally in M3S aswell. It made the problem 100 times worse. Seems there is just nothing at all consistent with this issue. Needs a dev fix.
Problem came back after 2 days. And i just saw something quite weird while doing a dungeon, it looked like the game suddenly moved at 30fps for a few seconds but the fps counter showed no change. Happened a few times.
Im honestly out of ideas, tried everything but i don't know what could by causing this or its something specific in the engine.
Tried reseting my pc today, so im going to try now.
Has Square Enix acknowledged the issue yet? There's post after post after post after post about this, with the same cookie cutter copy/paste solutions to try that never work.
I heard they announced an announcement for the end of the month about some upcoming fixes for issues introduced by the graphics update. But I haven't seen this announced announcement with my own eyes, so maybe it's bullshit?
i had the same problem. nothing works.
I have deactivated the following devices in the device manager
Device Manager - Software Devices
-Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator
-Microsoft RRAS Root Enumerator
this fixed the problem for me. no fps drops or freezes
