As a lover of glamour, this is one of the features I've been waiting for and... Still, it's not great at the moment...

You can only dye the 2nd color on Gear Jobs and cashop outfits, and a small part of craftable cosmetic outfits.

And on some outfits, the 2nd color is almost invisible: on the Magitek Attire, it's the inner lining of the jacket and the hood. On others, it's the front bow and the inner layer when you like to wear a hakama for the lower part on Eastern Lady Errant's Attire (coat). Some outfits aren't very dyeable, like... It's just the shoulder bag... Line on Far Eastern Maiden's Attire.

    Meh...

I'm waiting to see what it'll look like for Raid sets and other stuff in the future. In the end, the best feature added that I wasn't expecting is the ability to mask people around quest locations.

On some it looks good, like: Mheg Deaca Attire (dress) or Peacock Attire (dress)

It's just a gadget for now...

    Wait & See :S

I want to say that the devs should be free to "break the game" if they're gonna make improvements like the two dye system.

For example, the "Adventuring Sweater", in the old days, you would dye it and it would give a color to both the sweather and the scarf. But now that they added a second channel, what it should do is to give a color to the sweater and another to the scarf. But because they didn't want to break how the dye worked before, now it doesn't behave as people expect it to behave. The second dye is useless as a fish bycicle on that piece.

They should have broken how that dye worked on that piece to make it better. The complaints from that would have been minimal, at most.

Here's how it could have been done to minimize complaints: when changing a piece like that from 1 dye to 2 dyes, just make the proper change (split the sweater and the scarf in different channels) and instead of only preserving the first dye and left the second empty, just put the same dye on the two slots to make it look close to what it did look before and let the player sort it out later.

And more specifically. They should have broken and gone fully ham on it. Not giving two dye slots, but more depending on the piece. Their insistence on not breaking stuff have also shown that there are even more layers to this that they could have used.

I'm pretty devastated to see that all the older White Mage AF gear that had the distinctive red detailing turn into weird pukey gray bits when it gets dyed STILL has the exact same issue and instead has some random small part as the second dye channel. And the Eastern Lord's Togi has a BELT of all things as the second dye channel, instead of the blue underskirt and trim, which still dyes a nasty unwanted shade of the first channel dye?

All I see is a continuation of the original poor dye choices; WHY do parts of the item that are completely different colors undyed become different shades of the same color when dyed?

Certain locations for what id dyable feels like a monkeys paw... So let's better yet ask for a 3rd and 4th slot!

It really seems so random what the 2nd dye channel will apply to, and in many cases, it’s not the obvious thing you would want it to be.

I really do appreciate just how many things were already available with double dyes on early access day, but I do hope they’ll go back at some point and look at the individual pieces to see what makes sense for the second channel.

The appointed jacket disappointed me immensely. All the second dye does is, dye the upper part of the vest and only on one side. Please, just make it so the undershirt doesn't change with the primary dye and have it change with the secondary, that would be better.

The Educand's set is an absolute embarrasment in this regard. You look at these pieces and it's obvious that the first dye channel should be the top and the second the scarf. Likewise for the legs, dye channel 1 should be the skirt and 2 should be the leggings.

Instead dye channel 2 on the top is just a tiny bit of trim on the scarf, not the whole thing. And on the skirt it's just a button. I can only assume that for older gear it wasn't possible to separate out stuff that was already dyable from channel 1 and make it a separate channel (or at least it was too much work to do so).

If we stay cool, everything will be fine!

Welp, this is my first time in here.
I know...there's so much potential on the glamour in FFXIV but most of the time players adjust and try to make the best with what game can offer.

However, I'm also aware that error/mistakes can occur if dev team is working hard to deliver things but will they going to bother now if they failed on something?
Does it worth try contact them for this "possible errors" and hope that I be somehow helpful to them to update in a patch?

To give an image to my disappointment:
Chest piece:- Snow Cotton Tunic of Scouting - Lvl90 ilvl 645 - 2 dyes channel opened - Dawntrail release.
There's a green part on this chest that is not linked with any dye (which I assume the right one to be applied in there is the Dye 1 slot).
It makes looks weird specially because doesn't follow the pallette parttern they apply to the undyeable parts.

At the moment, I hope they can improve and make 2 dye channels a better experience and not going curse this as a failure. Maybe just need hear player suggestions?
Pretty sure, this will give them even more opportunities to RESKIN same gear concepts.

Note: Yes, this "new" gear is the Ala Mhigan Tunic of Scouting - Lvl70 ilvl370 - 1 dye channel.

From what I can tell, hardly any of the older gear had their original dye layer changed to fit the new dye channel. So yeah they lazily choose parts of the clothing that the 1st dye didnt already effect in some way rather than edit it to fit the 2nd dye better... Im at least hoping now that they have the tech, newer model gear should at least some better dyeable options... well see...
