Ill put here the comment i made on the thread "Please allow Glare to be turned off" under the this same "Technical Support" forum section since you mention directly the issue they chose to ignore for people with eye issues like me.

The comment i made on the other thread.:
"Seems that the first attempt to report the removal/change to the "Glare: off" option as an issue/bug got moved to "Bug Reports > Working as Intended"
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...ng-as-expected
Unless i'm misuderstanding they're sweeping the issue under the rug."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And ill also add this here.:
Its not a good decision to take out options that have been present from the start of ARR that immensely help people with sensory issues just for the sake of eyecandy and glowy bits.
No matter how much you try to dress it up as an intended change in the patchnotes, its still awful and unthoughtful to say the least.
You have players literally telling you they can't even finish the MSQ or play the game anymore because it causes physical pain, just look around in other threads in these forums.
Ill reiterate what i said in other threads, you made this decision and only made it known to the players after the pre-purchase of Dawntrail in the 7.0 patchnotes w/o even giving a preview of it, or a warning, or even mentioning it in the liveletters of the removal of a feature that was present since ARR and players took for granted.
So please add back "Glare: Off" option to the game menus.
Below i leave 3 images of what the removal of "Glare: Off" option does compared to Pre-Dawntrail. This is one of the most egregious examples of a place w/o spoiling Dawntrail areas , and yes, some Dawntrail areas are even worse.:
Edit: In all of those pictures my gamma is the same, there's something clearly very wrong with the new contrast between light and shadow. In danwtrail if i dial the gamma to 0 the glare/bloom areas remain very bright. Theres no smooth transition anymore.
