How can I turn bloom off?

Previously bloom was associated with the glare options, which I could turn off and it would remove the glare from the screen, which was my preferred viewing.

Glare now seems to be tied to water refractions, and I cannot find a way to remove the intense bloom from the game.

    Thank you for your help!

It would seem that this is currently a bug since the appropriate setting for it does absolutely nothing now.

There was a post in the Bug Report forums that has now been moved to Accepted Bugs: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...ng-as-expected

Here's to hoping they have a fix soon because the bloom looks awful lmao.

    Can't turn off bloom

New Dawntrail bloom is killing my frames, game runs smooth on vanilla areas but whenever i get near an aetheryte or nighttime comes and they light up the windows and postlamps it gets really unstable...

Ill put here the comment i made on the thread "Please allow Glare to be turned off" under the this same "Technical Support" forum section since you mention directly the issue they chose to ignore for people with eye issues like me.

    https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...-be-turned-off

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The comment i made on the other thread.:
"Seems that the first attempt to report the removal/change to the "Glare: off" option as an issue/bug got moved to "Bug Reports > Working as Intended"
    https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...ng-as-expected

Unless i'm misuderstanding they're sweeping the issue under the rug."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And ill also add this here.:

Its not a good decision to take out options that have been present from the start of ARR that immensely help people with sensory issues just for the sake of eyecandy and glowy bits.

No matter how much you try to dress it up as an intended change in the patchnotes, its still awful and unthoughtful to say the least.

You have players literally telling you they can't even finish the MSQ or play the game anymore because it causes physical pain, just look around in other threads in these forums.

Ill reiterate what i said in other threads, you made this decision and only made it known to the players after the pre-purchase of Dawntrail in the 7.0 patchnotes w/o even giving a preview of it, or a warning, or even mentioning it in the liveletters of the removal of a feature that was present since ARR and players took for granted.

So please add back "Glare: Off" option to the game menus.

Below i leave 3 images of what the removal of "Glare: Off" option does compared to Pre-Dawntrail. This is one of the most egregious examples of a place w/o spoiling Dawntrail areas , and yes, some Dawntrail areas are even worse.:

Edit: In all of those pictures my gamma is the same, there's something clearly very wrong with the new contrast between light and shadow. In danwtrail if i dial the gamma to 0 the glare/bloom areas remain very bright. Theres no smooth transition anymore.

Was looking for a solution on that Issue.

Titan Arena, where is my character?

Please give us the Option to turn off Bloom.
I hate that effect in every game I played and is the first thing I turn off.
If this cant be turned off, I might have to look into other solutions.

Its even worse in dark environment trials or dungeons, i never had a problem with zodiark trial, and got it yesterday in a daily roulette, i had to leave it because i couldnt handle the high intensity between the glare/bloom lighting the boss does with his attacks/effects and the glare/bloom some parts the arena emit.

I got instant forehead cramps and pain. This crap is unbearable and an health risk that they are ignoring. Even people that dont notice it have no idea how bad this is for your vision.

Everytime comes an admin/moderator in these forums and says to make a bug report of it and sweeps it under the rug as a feature and working as intended.

This is not a bug, this is an "off" option they removed from the ingame settings and only announced it 1~2 days before early access.

This is not about feelings or not being happy with the product purchase, its about avoiding real life health risks from a game ive been playing since ARR release.

Once again i ask, to Please listen to your players and avoid permanent eye damage or seizures to the ones that dont have any yet.

Keep waiting... they said It's housing problem but no, it's affecting to every part of the game. Try to do Main Scenario, you will burn your eyes in 15sec, it's about to give us the possibility to disable glare, like it was on the past.

It was intentionally removed to make the new expansion look more fun and quirky!
