    DLSS Issues

    DLSS seems to be turning itself off whenever you are in a cutscene or talking to NPC's, making everything look like there is no anti aliasing at all.

    And I'm getting weird pixelated lines across my screen in those situations (cutscene, talking to NPC) when there is no movement: https://imgur.com/a/1wc1vX6
    I's definitely not a gpu issue cause cause I can take a screenshot of it obviously and those pixels disappear when I move the mouse cursor over them.

    Seeing similar behavior. NPC's and others look like they've been rendered with a Super Nintendo. Framerate seems fine but I'm getting horrible aliasing especially in objects rendered in the distance.

    Can confirm this, having same behavior. DLSS disables whenever there are chat bubbles (cutscenes included), Marketboard UI and such menus open. Other AA methods (with FSR) don't seem to be affected, at least not that I can notice.

    Looks like FFXIV is using a custom DLSS library versioned at 3.5.10. I've tried downloading newer versions (3.7.0) but all that did was grey out upscaling altogether. Might be stuck with this until it gets sorted.

    I can confirm this bug. Here is some more technical info from someone smarter than me on Reddit.

    best I can tell, the game stops jittering the sampling points, resulting in effectively no meaningful AA or upscaling effect; dlss appears to still be enabled insofar as the game is hooked into the .dll and sending data to it, it's just that it's effectively only using it as a dumb upscaler similar in quality to a bilinear filter (though if you've forced dlaa, this effectively just means it appears as though things were "turned off")

    Also wondering if this has been addressed by dev? its very annoying since we are going through a new msq we are always talking to npcs and seeing cutscenes.

    With the 3.7.10 DLL preset F looks better, IMHO. It does not smear/blurr so much like E or C.

    It's worth noting that chatting to NPCs and Cutscenes also breaks TSCMAA's jittering functionality effectively killing the good form of AA they gave us.
