Mount tilt feature: motion sickness and a plea for an on/off toggle

Jesus lord how does a mild tilt make anyone motion sick… it looks way better then just randomly snapping a direction… Jesus Christ I think the devs need a toggle just to deter everyone from the forums because they are damned if they do or don’t at this point.. this isn’t even feedback as it really makes no sense… I’m genuinely baffled by how one can get motion sick from a partial tilt and if you say it’s because you’re rapidly changing direction then… don’t XD

"Damned if they do, damned if they don't" - Nobody asked for mount tilt, so that's a completely moot point.

This is a genuine accessibility issue. It is making people feel unwell.
Games blunder in this way all the time, I've had to stop playing games entirely because their camera or graphics function as motion sickness simulators.

TL;DR "I don't understand how motion sickness works, and because I don't have it, it's not real"

If anyone else is experiencing issues, could you specify the circumstances and your controls?

My settings:

• Legacy Type (Camera-based) movement & "Maintain camera distance" on
• I play with a controller; when I move around, I usually use the left stick to move and turn around, and sometimes adjust the camera with the right stick

I've noticed that I can use the Chokorpokkur mount for ground-level movement (at least until I gain more speed in the DT areas), and the Miw Miisv (the jellyfish mount) seems ok for flight travel. Still, it's not ideal that I'm limited to two mounts when the game has so many awesome mount options.

Some mounts, like the bikes, definitely look better. However, the chocobos are very jarring and it isn't mild.

I would appreciate either an on/off toggle, or an adjustment to the mounts that are tilting way too heavily to the point of it looking unnatural in the game.

I'm not getting motion-sickness or anything, I just think it looks goofy and weird. I can see how someone would get sick from it though.

It looks fine on some ground mounts... but it's hilarious on floating mounts like phoenix.
Wish they specified the tilt on certain mounts, not all.

The Tilt is super distracting and after some time was giving me motion sickness. have basically abandoned using mounts or strictly using first person to move when mounted.
I would like an option to disable the tilt or greatly reduce the tilt

I don't think all of them are revamped. Torgal doesn't seem to tilt for me.

The tilting is giving me motion sickness as well. With how important world movement is, this isn't something nebulous I can just try to power past as it will be triggered every time I travel.

I've had to quit playing some enjoyable games in the past due to unavoidable content regularly making me motion sick, such as Warframe. I don't want to add Final Fantasy XIV to that list. Please remove these visuals or offer a way to turn them off as soon as possible.
