Mount tilt feature: motion sickness and a plea for an on/off toggle

same, not only did it give me motion sickness, but imo the tilt looks dumb on the ground

I've had to remove many of my favorite mounts from my favorites list because they make me too motion sick to use now. I can't use any horse mounts (or mounts similar to horses like the kirin), or any chocobos. The chocobo makes me especially sad because it's my buddy and I like having it in my random favorites rotation. I hope they add a Tilt Level option like the water blur settings, High, Low, or Off.

It looks and feels truly terrible. There are so many mounts (including paid cash shop mounts) that I literally can't use without starting to get a headache. The tilt is so extreme. It looks great during flight with some mounts (particularly ones with wings). However, with the majority of mounts I've used it just looks way too extreme tilting left to right.

Please please adjust this feature. Turn tilt off while mounts are on the ground and make the tilt not so extreme in the air.

I love the mount tilt myself but I agree there should be a toggle setting so people who don't want it can turn it off.

The one that tilt seems to fit best is the ffvii bike makes it feel more like one from ffvii. Some the others look silly with tilts.

It doesn't bother me, but I also don't suffer from motion sickness, at least not like this. It sucks for those that do and hopefully they can address this issue with a toggle or something. That said, I think it works well with some mounts but not so much with others. For some mounts, it looks pretty natural. Then there are other ones where it looks like you are losing control of your ride.

Edit #2: Well, I don't quite know what happened, but Rathalos does tilt wildly. Not really sure what to say other than this wasn't my experience with it up until now (Maybe my controller was wonky? Who knows), but I figured I'd edit my post as not to spread false information. Thanks Hasrat for pointing this out.

Edit: As an aside, Rathalos didn't get this update. If anyone is struggling and doesn't mind using a dragon, that is a good alternative for the time being.

For the record, Rathalos tilts wildly while flying. Not a great suggestion.

While we're all testing mounts to see what's good/bad:

Flying Chair: tilts a little bit, but it's almost subtle enough to not be awful. I don't hate it.
Archon Throne: tilts way too much

What surprised me, tho, was Flying Shark. The tilt honestly looks great on that mount.

Which almost makes the idea of toggles feel a little bit bad... the basic premise behind the tilt isn't the worst idea, and on some mounts, it can range from looking good to not awful.. but it just feels like there are way too many mounts that use it poorly, so the whole implementation skews towards "this looks ridiculous."

didn't read through all of this but i feel like the issue lies with the height differences, both between mounts, and between character models. a tall mount with a roe, leans much farther over than a lala on a short mount. i think this is mostly perception based on a consistent degree angle producing a variable character distance from center. if the degree tilt was tweaked to normalize the distance between character and center (arctan of tilt degrees?), instead of a static degrees tilt, it would probably feel better.
