Hoyoverse did it a lot better imo:

Slender looks just better than Bulky, but some people like the muscle ladies.

That's still barely more muscular than a catgirl, just with a bigger chest and a fox head.

Which is a problem that is unfortunately just not going to disappear.
All gear is designed for the female midlander body, as that is pretty much the "default" without any bone scaling applied. On top of that a lot of the gear has a relatively low polygon count for obvious reasons, it needs to run well with the assumption of a hundred players loaded at the same time.
What this means however is that things like sleeves and gloves are fit rather loosely to even the default body shape, so when applying the different racial scaling, especially more extreme bone scaling like female Roegadyn and female Hrothgar, it often ends up looking...goofy.

This comment looks as if you have not seen the difference between female hrothgar gear scaling and other bodies, including female roegadyn. The same items on hrothgar look significantly larger, and that's what really stands out to people.
I hope the gear worn on female hrothgar will eventually look similar in arm size to female roegadyn. That would be good enough for me.

Helloo, I’d like to spark this convo/rigging problem up again… I found some pieces that are still REALLY REALLY big and bulky for no reason… I hoped they would fix more after 7.1 fixes… but I did not see any in 7.2x
I took these when I was a hrothgar and I would love to go back but the lack of hairstyles/hats and these really BIG BIG shoulders for no reason bothers me, Roe’s are also big but I feel like they have less issues with things like these…

Ty for reading! Lets spark this convo again and document all that we find again

It seems they've been fixing a lot of these without saying anything in the patch notes. I was a female hrothgar for a few weeks recently and I only found two pieces that still had the issue (the skallic fending coat and the arm bands on their racial gloves) whereas previously it was almost everything in my glam chest.

I don't think anything is going to change with the shoulder plates. Personally I think it would look worse if they had smaller shoulder plates sitting there, like what they did to undead in WoW way back in the day.

So, uh, I know hats are awesome, I am happy for both us and the Viera, and the toggle our bunny siblings got for their ears. Great job! ^^

However... my gear is still oversized af, including the arm rings from the racial Hrothgal set itself, the starting gear. They haven't published a list for clothes fixed the last two patches but it's not like they haven't bothered listing everything before, so I assumed they would keep adjusting gear in silence. And yet I am still able to decapitate myself twice by stretching thanks to massive shoulder blades. I don't know if they just never look at threads in "Duplicate Bugs" anymore after moving them there, or consider this solved, but even so, the Ravager's Cuirass (and its PvP version) and many other offenders are artifact job gear, which seems to have a priority when it comes to adding dye zones and high quality textures to it. So I would assume it would have a priority for fixing this stuff as well... Tht is, if they keep fixing stuff without telling and not just adjusted a fraction and called it a day.

There are nice sleeveless options in this game, yes, but at some point I'd like to wear anything else...

Anything that has sleeves is just awful looking with how wide their shoulders are, coupled with how bulky and huge it gets..

Yeahh, still a lot of outfits I'm hoping get updated. I still choose not to wear the Fierce Tyrant's Gauntlets because they look so bloated on my character. And while I do use the Late Allagan & Vanguard armors often, they still have some sizing issues that become so obvious when you compare them to, say, a female roegadyn.
My friend has told me he's certain some other outfits were improved even when the patch notes did not explicitly say it, so I'm hoping we are still getting fixes. I would love some more transparency about it.
