Tried this on my laptop.Jumpin' jellyfish!! I have a major update. I followed the instructions on this Reddit post and was finally able to run the game!!
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...rashing_steam/
You'll first want to head over to the Archive link pasted in the post description. From there, click on "GZIP" and then "dxvk-1.7.1-bin.tar.gz".
Download and open this using a program like WinRAR. You'll find the two files you need in the folder that corresponds to your system type.
Drag these two files into your game folder. For me, I have the game via Steam, so mine can be found here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online\game
From there, try to boot the game and see if you're able to get in! It worked wonders for me!!
It fixed the error, but in exchange I can't make it any further than the Square Enix logo before the game starts flashing and strobing, and I can't click out of it.![]()

This method can get your account banned because these files alter software download files. It's against the ToS to alter FFXIV software in any way other than intended, as downloaded. All files must be kept as is unless done within the game itself, example: changing system or character configurations. Inadvertantly, the files change the way the game loads. SE has commented on errors similar to this with "check the minimum system requirements" and "update your drivers" when getting these errors. Many of us know that no amount of updating will fix the fatal DirectX error (30000000). 9 out 10 who receive this error have systems less than minimum requirement. The requiremenets required changed with the release of Dawntrail. I could run Endwalker on this old brick of a computer, but when Dawntrail was released, the errors began right away. There is no getting beyond the pre-SE logo screen. I sucked it in as a lower end system. Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
