This argument is just bad. Why would anyone pretend to like a character they dislike? That makes no sense.

Just played a bit more today in the 92 range of story quests, and still enjoying it. I don't mind her character, voice or our role at her side. Did a longer post back on page 26 about what I like about her, so don't feel like repeating it all here.

If people hate her that much, they're free to just skip through the story if it's so unbearable to have her along and as the focus of the story. Or if it completely ruins the game for them, there's other games out there. I do find it a bit hard to understand what's so horrible or annoying about her that it would completely ruin the experience. I feel like people make it harder on themselves by focusing too hard on the things that upset them, paying more attention to it which ends up upsetting them more. But eh. I'm probably in the minority that just enjoys the story and characters and still bothers to visit the forums and topics like this. It is kinda entertaining though

People don't want to skip the story, they don't want to quit the game. They want to play an interesting, well paced story like they have come to love and expect from, I dunno, the last 10 years of content? Since when did asking for a well delivered story become controversial in FF14 of all MMOs?!?!!

I love standing around while Wuk gets to do everything. Catch an alpaca? Wuk gets to do it. Ride in a festival boat? Wuk gets to do it. Glad I get to watch someone else have all the fun.

I started in the Pelupelu area and when the tedious trade quest was done and we were finally gonna catch a goddamn alpaca I was 85% convinced this would lead to the first dungeon (granted I didn't spoil myself at all before playing, no pictures, no Launchtrailer, nada). The other 15% chance was at least a minigame or something of the sorts after the endless cutscene marathon.

....well, we got another bland cutscene, in which we didn't even get to watch Wuk catch the poor animal. Nah, we were just waiting for her doing nothing. Like a good little dog in front of the supermarket.

God was I pissed.

Okay, so I'm at level 99 and past the Otis stuff. I just want to say that it never gets better. Whoever said that the latter half is getting good lied. It keeps being boring and Wuk centric. My poor WoL is there suffering this slogfest and wondering what he did wrong with his life to deserve this. Urianger and Thancred are drinking cocktails on the beach, Y'Shtola is exploring abandoned temples, G'Raha is eating tacos and here is the WoL babysitting team stupid and their furry mascot. Why do I have to be with the kids? Why are we here? Why do we care about any of this? This is the worst expansion XIV ever had and I'm amazed that Yoshida and Ishikawa who supposedly had oversight over this decided to release it, do you guys hate your playerbase or something? Why did you have to bring a failed theater director who bankrupted his own company due to how bad his writing is to do the whole MSQ? What's wrong with you? You should feel ashamed. Also, why there's no content on launch besides 2 extremes and 2 dungeons? The savage tier in 1 month? HAHAAH, I will not play that, where is new bozja? 1 year from now? Nope, I'm done. I already paid for the expansion and paid the sub but after this it's over. I'm not coming back, this was the final chance.

It's been a good to for a lot of people on 14 discussion though it's shocking to see it being thrown around so early. Such a great story where it's casuing people to be told to quit 3 days in

I played through the original cringefest that was ARR. I played through the whole useLyse part of SB. But man, Wok Lmao is just completely unbearable, even compared to those tragedies of storytelling. This feels like a thirteen year old girl's fanfiction, and the voice acting is just as bad.
