Wow, Wuk Lamat is really single-handedly ruining the DT story...

I'm not going to lie, I think a lot of the complaining has to do with nostalgic based regency bias than anything. Wuk seems fine. I'm just now wrapping up the city introduction but She isn't as bad as the complaints on these forums make it sound. She is like lyse in the sense she is naïve, But unlike lyse where we don't have a full expansions with her and still didn't have a clue about how anything works. Unlike lyse She seems pretty insecure. Her bravado in 6.55 was clearly a show of false confidence and a desperate bid for help.
I kind of feel she is lyse done well. The set up so far is basic and have a lot of tropes, but they can also develop in interesting ways. I am at least interested to see where this goes.
in 6.55 I was pretty sure i wasn't going to like her, But I am pleasantly surprised, Wuk has hints of depth that were never present for lyse until the very end of 4.0.

The story gets extremely predictable the more you go. Once you realize you can decently anticipate what is coming, it really cheapens the experience. So it's best to not think that much and just cruise along. Thinking too much during the MSQ made me question my own existence in this universe.

We went from extremely well written story elements that involve time travelling which had a self fulfilling prophecy, extremely hard to write well by the way, to Naruto.

WE WENT FROM STEINS;GATE TO NARUTO in terms of writing... Holy crap. Not to mention Wuk can't even match the Gigachadness of Naruto.

I mean Naruto is a Shounen Manga/Anime, take that for what you will.

This is usually how it goes, someone comes along who takes their criticism too far into off topic territory and then all the people who oppose those critcisms use that to invalidate everyone else who has found the Wuk Lamat adventures to be annoying and boring.

One of the people that disagreed with me did threaten my life here. So it goes both ways.

Just had a situation where for a major battle my WoL just watched and I had to play as the awful Wuk Lamat. I don’t remember this being a thing in the past. When we played briefly as others it was because our WoL was doing something else and not there. Being there and having my character stand idly, doing absolutely nothing, so I could play as Wuk just irritated me way more than is reasonable.

Wuks sudden and unexplained power increase belied all credibility. I just hate this character.

It's literally a dynamis power up caused by her increase in confidence.
Now you can dislike this kind of trope, but to say that it isn't credible within the story of FF is just willful ignorance.

I thought she did OK. It's a hard act to follow after everyone else in past expansions. (Not posting names cause spoils!)

I'm at 92, yes she grates in me, but I can see the character growth. Looking forward to seeing where she goes.

However. I do disagree with ppl saying she's out of place. Have you ever played Mystic Quest? The OG from square soft? Perlease.

I do think abot more mystery is needed, but for now at 92 it's OKish.

Respectfully criticizing someone's work is fine, but bashing someone on the personal level based on their looks is absolutely despicable. I'm outta here and back to enjoy Dawntrail, which by the way, is becoming better and better story-wise by the minute.

If you looked you could see your actual character chillin just out of bounds. Kinda trippy seeing yourself like that.

I really like her, she's like Lyse, except that she actually gets the character development she needs.
