PS5 Controller Back Button Not Recognized. Send Help and Counselingway Please!

Hi,
I logged in today after a clean reboot. My controller works as it did prior to xpac with the exception of the back (select) button.

I have tried:
- Recalibration in game
- Tested it with another controller
- Deleting and resyncing Bluetooth
- Changing the type of controller under system settings
- Ensuring it's not sync'd to the PS5

The button around the touchpad is usually blue, now it is white and just in the center. I don't use this controller for anything else.

Please help! This is not how I thought launch day would start, lol. It was fine on Tuesday.

the alternative is choosing the PS4/5 in System Setting > Controller.
Then restarting the game. I did this, and my dead "SELECT" button was set to Touchpad on calibration.

You can resolve this in the meantime by changing your controller ingame to Dualshock 4 settings. The share button becomes recognized again that way.

I am having the same issue,
i dont see an option for Dualshock 4,
"Device" just has "Dualsense Wireless Controller"
Gamepad Type has several options none of them change the buttons used & only seems to change what they're called

I was able to use the button before Dawntrail, please help

I am also having the same issue. Changed to different controller settings (PS4/PS5 with restarting each time) and the touchpad still doesn't show in the button calibration.

Also not sure if this is just me but the controller feels...janky. Not as smooth as it was before DT update. Like when i jump I would do a 360 spin and I would spin smoothly. Now my character gets sorta stuck in one direction if I spin the left thumbstick. Not a big deal just something I noticed. Could be that my thumbstick is worn out but it was perfectly fine right before the maintenance.

I'm glad it's not just me, I was worried I'd done something (not sure what that could have been). I managed to get the touchpad to start working but it's annoying af to have to retrain the muscle memory.

How did you get the touchpad to start working? I just resorted to try and get used to hitting the Share/Select button and rewrite years of muscle memory. I am using a PS5 Dualsense controller, hardwired, and updated it recently to whatever latest driver. (I also had the issue where it was blue but now its just white and in the middle too).

I'm using the same. I honestly don't know. I was just trying everything and at one point I realized that was working. Do you have it set to PS5 controller under system settings?

if you do calibration in System Configuration>Gamepad Settings it should recognize pushing the touchpad as an input, doesn't solve the underlying issue of SE breaking the back button but works as a work around
