Bumpety-Boop!
And back to playing other games where I don't have to develop a serious painkiller addiction to play.
Kinda regret getting Dawntrail but oh well...See you on the next bump?
Boop!
The only expectation I have for the live letter and 7.1 is disappointment. I don't expect this to be a priority, especially with all the time they're going to spend trying to diffuse the Wuk Lamat discourse and all the other gripes about the graphical update.
Appreciate those of you still coming around to bump the thread though.
And the strange thing is, these issues are propably not hard to fix. The game engine has a pixel jitter problem. Pixel jittering is not reliably applied and this produces very strange results. TAA and TAA-based anti aliasing methods need pixel jittering to work correctly. It seems to me, that they use FXAA to determinate the pixels, which should be jittered instead of jitter everything.
And the second thing is, many moving objects produce ghosting effects. Which implies, that the engine does not provide any motion vectors/velocity buffers or those motion vectors are completely wrong. And they rely on the optical flow engine, which is included in DLSS. But optical flow engines are very subpar compared to real correct motion vectors.
Cheers

Boop-time! I mean Bump-time!
Gonna use my sub at least for something so its not entirely wasted. :')
Boop!
Just adding to the forum that I'm also experiencing eye strain since the graphics update. Literally have played since 1.0 without issue but since the graphics update I can't go more than fifteen minutes without my eyes starting to double and without feeling my eyes become physically fatigued.
Tried adjusting the fsr to 99. Turned off blur, glare, and bloom when able. Tried a variety of AA. No dice: my eyes still hurt. Glasses don't help and they're brand new.
Hooray for FFXVI and the new Zelda being out this month? I'm unsubbing until a fix unfortunately.
I just finished the base MSQ, the last dungeon's 2nd and 3rd boss are honestly awful for the eyes.
Hidden maybe text spoilers
Plenty of times I found myself looking away from the screen because the lightning SFX was...painful...
I recall struggling with the Lv97 dungeon as well...
I..have a headache now...Why? Why is difficulty = blinding the player irl, I don't understand who is approving this VFX design...Maybe next time I'll take a screenshot, though a screenshot won't do it justice.
Purple on purple on purple in boss 2 is a nightmare but add in high-contrast white and it's even worse.
Last boss of that dungeon's mid-fight 'ult' attack I have to genuinely close my eyes and look away, and the annihilation laser aoe attack toward the end is a nightmare. I'm (non-epileptic/seizure) photosensitive and most things I'm OK with between my own monitor/TV settings but that just.. hurts on top of other eyestrain as it is.
You would've thought after the complaints about O11N's charging mechanic being an extreme seizure hazard back in SB even for non-sensitive players they'd of avoided that kind of high contrast strobe but nope![]()

It didn't stop them from creating the effects for Paradigm's Breach which actually caused seizures.Purple on purple on purple in boss 2 is a nightmare but add in high-contrast white and it's even worse.
