it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.

Not the best solution since you have to install Reshade and it's PC only, but it's better than nothing.
I'm sure it will help some people but I don't want to download 3rd party tools (I'm worried about my account's safety) and it also seems too tedious to install.I found this on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...ent_upscaling/

These days I log in, check submarines, log out. GW2 housing will come out in 2 days, if it's good I'll probably give up on my XIV houses and I will only resub for big patches. It makes no sense to pay monthly at this point. It's ironic, I was a GW2 refugee in 2019, now I might end up as a XIV refugee in my old game.GW2 is flashy too but I can turn off all the annoying effects, including bloom.

That's precisely why I consider it not the best solution. It still might help some people; that's why I shared it here as a possible temporary fix. Reshade is allowed to be used, as far as I'm aware (it's comparable to Nvidia filters in a sense, which seem to do the same thing), but we shouldn't be forced to use it to fix issues that have been introduced with the update. I wish we were able to disable all this through the actual game settings like we could before. It's sad that there's virtually nothing we can do to be able to play the game we pay for comfortably.I'm sure it will help some people but I don't want to download 3rd party tools (I'm worried about my account's safety) and it also seems too tedious to install.

Hold up did you say GW2 housing? I wasn't really a GW2 refugee but more like a burnt out gamer, I did everything I wanted in that game and they keep disappointing me somehow.I'm sure it will help some people but I don't want to download 3rd party tools (I'm worried about my account's safety) and it also seems too tedious to install.

I agree, I've been inactive in GW2 in the past years because it's been disappointing but the next expansion (coming out on Tuesday!) includes housing so I'mma go back just for that, I looove housing in MMOs.And I can't play XIV all day like I used to because it makes my eyes hurt, so this is the best time to revisit old games, lol.

I quit GW2 to come here in 2018, because I couldn't deal with the combat graphics anymore. Flamethrower on engineer, for example, was a bad time for me! Also always felt the story was trash and even FFXIV ARR was better (though it took me a couple of attempts to get into it).I agree, I've been inactive in GW2 in the past years because it's been disappointing but the next expansion (coming out on Tuesday!) includes housing so I'mma go back just for that, I looove housing in MMOs.And I can't play XIV all day like I used to because it makes my eyes hurt, so this is the best time to revisit old games, lol.
That said, I went back to GW2 a few years ago for the End of Dragons shenanigans and had as good a time as I've ever had in GW2 (as in lots of good), and got my skyscale, then my siege turtle, and when I came back to FFXIV it was nice and refreshing to be here again. I've been back in GW2 this week, and although it can still make my eyes bleed, at least it's only a few things that do it, and I can avoid them easily, which I can't really do in FFXIV at the moment. I'm going to have to catch up on the previous mini-expansion ahead of the new content this week, but I can say I'm definitely interested in what they're doing with player housing. There's also still a lot of things that GW2 does that are very player-friendly, and asura are the master race regardless of what game you're playing.
I'm not giving up on FFXIV, however, I really want them to fix these graphical nightmares. There's a reason I've generally stuck with this game over fully going elsewhere, and I'm not prepared to give up on it entirely just yet. My sub is out in a week or so, and I'll likely use that time to catch up in GW2, but I'll be keeping an eye on FFXIV in hope the issues are resolved soon. I'll be right back the moment they are.![]()

It's good that there are some fanmade tools to address the issue, even though it's not something that can work for everyone. It might even be a good starting point for a permanent in-game solution.
Do the devs need a starting point for solving this problem? There's no way to know, given it's this far out and there's still no word from them on this.

Finally I had to cancel my suscription in july... I hope the devs adress to this on the late-august announcement, for now I'm going back to other games ^^u
