Syrcus tower is currently broken

Hello! I'll be making this short.

This is to let you know that if you ever happen to queue into the Syrcus tower, there's a current bug with the third boss wherein the ice block mechanic doesn't work completely, resulting in instant wipes.

A report bug have been sent to the devs, but for the time being there's no known method to get around this bug, which made me see the vote abandon feature for the first time.

A friend of mine said after wiping twice they managed to beat it by dpsing Amon down before the mechanic that wipes the party.

how can they mess up an old raid that has been around for a while with something like that?

somehow... my hopes for DawnTrail, as low as they were.... have dropped further.

It's worth noting the entire dps in the alliance raid were either Pictomancers or Vipers. I'm not sure if the ice block targets dps only, but if it does, it could explain why the system might not recognize these new jobs entirely.

Sounds like it, because usually it targets the healers (cause it seemingly always targets me only on white mage or scholar.) If the AI script can't find a healer, it might be skipping it.

We had white mages and scholars as healers. So it's not simply one job where it might be justified. It's a really weird bug

You can "cheese" it by having a healer in each alliance die, have the 2nd healer rez them (but don't take it) and a tank die (but not taking the rez) and immediately rez while the cast is finishing. Requires some coordination, but we did it once and I've seen it done a couple of times.
