it for sure is population issue, i went to the "Shadow"Datacenter and didnt had any single issue the whole dayIt’s definitely better than yesterday seemingly. I had a streak of a few hours even was able to use aethershard a few times… closer to afternoon though and now persisting it’s happened a few times in a shorter time span as opposed to the morning where I was almost convinced it was fixed
So it might have something to do with server population

Game froze on my home server, Leviathan.
Restarted. and was 528th in queue.
Went to another datacenter, 28th in queue.
Game froze at the end of a quest as it has been doing.
Restarted, and went to another datacenter, no queue, logged in immedately.
Played for about 30 minutes and game crashed at quest completion.
There is far more going on here than a population issue.
HIGHLY ANNOYED, really close to uninstalling completely, and about just start complaining on all social media channels
I'm on OCE where wait queues are like 8-12 people long - and I'm still getting it this morning. I'm sure population is a factor, but not the only one.

For what it's worth, while I'm annoyed, I'm 85% sure this will require a hotfix that goes through Mircorsoft cert.
It's definitly not caused purely by congestion or solely by user settings, nor is it based on type of internet connection.
There's something amiss with the way the game is loading/streaming assets that seems to cause the crash. It's not just a loading/instancing issue, since travel within a town or dungeon also causes crashing (I just had a client crash litrally right now [1:14pm, 30/06GMT] teleporting from the outskirts of earthenshire into earthenshire, within the same instance).
Without knowing anything at all about the architecture of this game specifically, based on the sorts of things that seem to make it worse (playing on an external drive, congestion, etc) it sounds like any delay in data streaming is causing the Xbox to freak out and lock up. This is unlikely to be a datacentre-side issue (or it'd be impacting other platforms), which means a patch.
If you log in and there's no patch, the issue is very likely still there.

Happens for me too. Only during black screen transitions. Teleporting, aethernet, instance, and only in highly populated areas.
This really is a bummer... a lot of us pre-ordered Dawntrail hoping to hop in the early access. We have to wait for a long time in queue only to get into the game and have it crash and start the process all over again. The game is borderline unplayable right now and any hope of early access is shot at the moment. On top of that, we're burning up our subscription. I hope they fix this soon and provide some sort of compensation for the Xbox folks.
Would be nice to get a reply from any devs about the issue? I understand there is 1 small sentence way on the bottom of the website that says “we are aware of an issue”.
This doesn’t explain anything, what’s the eta on a fix? Are we going to be waiting for a patch? If so how long a week a month?? Do we have to reinstall? Are we getting sub days refunded?
oh dang... so the issue its still existing... dang, hope they fix that tomorrow, with syrcus tower they were fast... so only we have to wait
I was hopeful it was resolved but reporting that freezing is still occurring. I’ve had it happen twice today, once while leaving a cutscene and a second time upon exiting a dungeon.
At first I thought disabling the “hide players around npc” helped but I think it runs better when there’s less people on. My freezing didn’t start until the evening when the queue time skyrocketed on my server.
However I do wish they’d be more vocal about their process on fixing this. Even if it was just a “still working on it”.
Same here on Series X, random crashes during loading screens. I switched from PC to Xbox mostly because of DirectX crashes, just to have the same bad experience again...
lmao I check this tread everytime it happens and it's so wild how theres someone new everytime. I'm just hoping it's at least fixed after the weekend; granted these are my only days off but it is what it is.
