Same, I thought it would just be Heavensward. I'm excited to see the zone updates after the massive glow up the ARR zones got.

Well, I'll see you all on Tuesday. Hopefully someone will get some good news.
Dawntrail Graphics Update Character Feedback (Female Au Ra Face 1):

(Needs to be rewritten but I'm just so tired)
I wish they gave specifics as to which things are changed instead of having us wonder. I really don't want them to change anything for male miqo'te face 1 besides improving the textures on the face as well as face paint. From the new patchnotes:
"Graphical adjustments have been made to player character models based on feedback from the community.
Read more about our response to feedback on player character models. [here goes the link to Mr. Yoshida's post published in October - A.]
In conjunction with these adjustments, players can obtain a phial of Fantasia from the wandering moogle in Old Gridania (X:10.7 Y:6.4) for a limited period of time.
* This reward will be obtainable until the release of Patch 7.3."
Dreading logging in and seeing the changes to character faces again... 7.0 was drastic, 7.1 was drastic. If 7.2 is anything like the previous two updates it'll just make things worse and there needs to be a point where they just stop.
I loved my 7.0 face and 7.1 ruined it, 7.2 has a very real possibility to make that worse and neither looked anything remotely like 6.X or before, so like... just start work on a character creator that allows people to pick and choose multiple variants of each face instead, please.
Hopefully, however, this does mean that Auri limbals will no longer be high beams like they are in 7.1... the ambient lighting adaptation of them in 7.0 was honestly really cool.
There's a German term called "Verschlimmbesserung", meaning you try to improve something but it ends up much worse and this example is really the epitome of this word. How is it possible this looks worse than the old version in every conceivable way ... It looks like all its life has been sucked out of it. The ambience and the mood, that gave it this special something, have just been completely murdered. Not character related, but:
Kholusia (6.9 , 35.2) used to be one of my favorite fishing spots, especially when stocking up on Blue Crabs during 5.X...
The effects of the graphical update and the new automated processes used on the environment haven't really been discussed here, but I'll just share another example I posted on the Japanese thread a while ago:
Keeping in mind that during the last Tokyo Game Show's Live Letter, Yoshida was praising FFXI, an MMO that came out in 2002 on PS2, for how the texture work was so well made that the tiling (texture repetition) didn't show, at least well enough for him to stand in Jeuno and admire the walls for hours, as he put it.
If you showed me both examples I'd think 6.5 is the update.
Also, the way the characters are (not) lit is just sad in 7.0. They look so bland. :/

I am curious what they have ruined with 7.2. -.-From the new patchnotes:

Cheers
Round 3 with Fantasia.
Praying for a fix to miqo'te eyebrows..
Unfortunately, videos and screenshots of 7.2 content and SE modus operandi in 7.1 don't instil confidence in their commitment to adjusting character faces, so I personally won't have my hopes high. I'll be glad to be proven wrong, though.
