the eyebrows are the ABSOLUTE WORST. And I've submitted a ticket about it (for m miqote face 4) and I've seen some others also submit tickets, but they all got pushed to "working as intended." It's laughably bad.I was told to post my opinions about the graphics update here as well.
As I said in the other post there are several reasons for me having noticed that my face is no longer my face but the major points for me right now is that her eyes are different and a bit milky. Not as bad as the characters that have lighter eyes but to me fully noticeable. Her face has a different shape, her scar is bigger and her mouth has also changed shape. On top of that the eyebrows makes her facial expressions totally different to what I am used to. I have therefor not been able to play dawntrail.
I just cannot look at her in cutscenes and see her as my friend for ten years and that to me is really sad. I know that you are doing your best to fix it and as I said before in the first post I have waited patiently for the issue to be resolved, but now that I heard that after this there won't be any major changes I must say I got worried hence the post.
To help with the differences and to show graphically how she looked before compared to now I have added screenshots of her. I hope that that will be of help to you in your work efforts.

Personally, my main ask is for the Au Ra pupil size to return to its original size (or have an option for it). It really shouldn't be that hard to fix. If I don't see any change in the upcoming patch, I swear I'm going to lose it. I can't bear to wait for another future patch in hopes that it gets fixed if ever. Why is this still a trivial change? Will the devs just never acknowledge it?![]()

(Needs to be rewritten but I'm just so tired)
I’m really hoping we get some encouraging news and/or visuals in the Live Letter this coming weekend. I’m playing through the MSQ on my Highlander now and it’s just striking to me how much she’s changed. I can almost pretend she’s still ok until the cutscenes play… one of the big things was supposed to be this new lighting that was going to be so much better. But I’m watching cutscenes, and beyond my character having a totally different face (I swear the way they did the brow and nose, along with the awful philtrum, she looks more like a Roe at certain angles than a Hyur!), the way the light and shadows fall is just awful! I’ll have to take some more screenshots, but I’m just getting to DT zone 3, if you remember any of those scenes leading up to there. It's just wild to me that I need [REDACTED] to have my characters look more like the original, vanilla game now. Absolute upside down crazy world.
And I could weather it all if I just had my silly little blorbo to look at. But I don't, and my patience is wearing thin.
But I feel you, as someone else who spends a lot of time in gpose, it really sucks to have that taken away. Certain facial expressions have just been totally ruined, and that really affects the personality of a character.
Why couldn't they have given us some examples of the fixes during the PLL...? Right now we still don't know if the fixes are going to go in the right direction.
Tbh I think that's exactly why they didn't. People who don't notice won't notice. No spotlight, less backlash.
The more rational part of me does think you're definitely right.
Unfortunately my anxiety keeps making me go back and forth... At the same time I keep feeling like showing us literally nothing reeks of a lack of confidence and dishonesty. Also at the same time, though, since they're offering another Fantasia for this patch, I hope that means the changes to the faces that differed too drastically from their originals are significant.
I just wish they would have been more honest about things that definitely read as mistakes... Duskwight men missing their clan-specific face textures, and Hellsguard's most distinct feature being nigh invisible. I also really, really, really hope they adjusted female Highlander makeup. I still feel so scared because that issue is really niche and dependent on skintone, and while a lot of my characters' face changes are upsetting because they look too different, she feels outright embarrassing to play on because it's like she can't correctly apply the eyeliner that is literally baked into her face... Buh, I'm rambling.

Oh I absolutely agree with you. On one hand I'm a little glad because it minimizes the "your character changed get over it" people who don't care at all but like to flock in and try and drown us out, but I also think by not showing examples they're also minimizing backlash, or pre-backlash, from those of us who do care and are watching it very closely in case there's a major thing that doesn't get addressed (again). The more rational part of me does think you're definitely right.

It's not rambling to talk about your concerns about your characters, that's what we're all in here for! If we weren't all talking about it, nothing would be getting done at all. I really hope the details you're unhappy with get fixed and you can enjoy your characters again. I haven't even finished DT on my middie cuz I don't want to look at her in cutscenes the way she is at the moment so I feel you =[. I've been waiting for 7.1 since they announced more adjustments before I decide what to do. Anxious final stretch, wooooo!
They probably are also not giving any previews so that people who like the previews don't get disappointed if what they saw in a preview isn't what they get live (or do get but looks different in the live environment than they expected). Probably wise of them to head it all off and let people see what happens live rather than fretting one way or the other for two weeks. Even if it doesn't help the current fretting much.Oh I absolutely agree with you. Face 2 F Miqos have it rough with the current eyebrows.
I at least had my report on it moved to Accepted Bugs, here. Hoping they get fixed in the coming update.
