The thing is the shield healers aren’t remotely balanced as it isI have to admit, I was kind of expecting this... It seemed from the beginning that it was unintentional and they just forgot to stop them from stacking, but I have to say I'm still a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to playing SGE this upcoming tier because of the two dots and the addition of Psyche.
I imagine the point is simply to make it easier to balance. That seems to be the reasoning behind 90% of the homogenisation and job design recently - which I can appreciate, they certainly make balancing gradually harder as they add more and more jobs. But I think I personally would prefer slightly worse balancing for slightly better job individuality... Every healer having a single 30s DoT, one spammable GCD and then one vaguely unique cooldown you can press only 1-3 times a minute really makes it feel like levelling the same class four times over rather than four individual classes.
SCH is better than SGE in near every category and them considering soteria and recitation equivalent isn’t going to help this, nor is how much stronger seraphism is over philosophia
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
