Square Enix telling us all to spoil DT story for ourselves is totally unacceptable.

Announcing the Chocorpokkur Twitch Viewer Rewards Campaign!

We are excited to announce a new collaboration with Twitch to celebrate the launch of Dawntrail! Players will be able to get their hands on some neat in-game items as well as the adorable Chocorpokkur mount by watching participating FINAL FANTASY XIV streamers live on Twitch.
    Campaign Duration

    From Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) to Monday, July 29, 2024 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT)
    Campaign Rewards

Watch any participating Twitch channel streaming FINAL FANTASY XIV Online with the "Viewer Rewards" tag and receive item codes for the following rewards based on how many accumulative hours watched:

1 Hour Watched: EXP Boost Meal Set (Buttery Mogbiscuit & Fat Choco Choco) x10
3 Hours Watched: Aetheryte Ticket x10
6 Hours Watched: Chocorpokkur Whistle (Mount) x1

Seriously Square Enix? Have you thought this through? Do you know what all the streamers would be streaming in July? The Main Scenario Quest!

Tell your event managers to delay this event NOW. This is totally the wrong time to do it because if we want to get the Chocorpokkur mount we have to spoil ourselves by watching Twitch. This is totally unacceptable.

By the way, some people say you can just mute it, but you cannot without using some browser extension or something. So what if someone who doesn't know? Then they'll 100% get spoiled. The timing is just so bad.

I've participated in a lot of these twitch drop campaigns over the years for different mmorpg's/online games, and it just keeps getting worse, and while i don't think many would really bat an eye over the feature; having a twitch drop campaign at the beginning on an expansion for a game that traditionally tends to keep it's spoilers close to the vest; .....it really is an awful idea.
