Got it from back at the time they discussed changing the items, it also included having all colours available. You could probably find it in old dev tracker posts.Idk where did u get that info but anyway there are also different aspects. For example all new jackboots got that metal plate on them which is something I do not liek at all. Dated ones don't have it and thus look way better imo. Bandanas got weird tribals on them while I like plain ones etc etc
As we had no word saying the opposite, it must still be true.
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)

I also wish to keep my dated items.
My red and green cotton...! I never made it to higher level than 21 (ish?) on any character and after getting back after almost a year I was quite disappointed with the options there are now.
I'm fond of my items and making and collecting them was a real driving force and I have lot of nostalgic feelings and good memories... My green cotton bandanas, the only things that can give me any comfort now. Velveteen ones just won't do...
In addition I wish them be tradeable! While my characters have the items I like I would really like to reset any spiritbonds every now and then by trading to lessen the possibility of losing them by accident... Also bound items are the horror.
And I may of course have more characters later and might want to borrow something nice out to them.
Currently dated things in markets are irritating (guess why I only have my dateds? Too much hassle!) but any filters available would help with this if they would be listable in markets, how ever markets would be implemented.
(I haven't been following these things, no clue if anything has been said on new market system)
...another name than Dated would not of course harm anything...

There are some pieces, mostly crafting clothes, where the Dated Version is somewhat better or situationaly better.
It'd be nice if they could intigrate the stats on similar pieces.
Currently the only nice thing about Dated Gear is that it spiritbinds faster... *winkwink*
Well, the sooner we know the better... The hoarder in me has been saving stuff for quite some time, and I think it's about time to visit a vendor and purge my stock so to speak. I know we have lists of deprecated materials and items from previous patch notes, but it would be nice to have a comprehensive list prior to 2.0 that includes all items in the game since release that will not be in 2.0...

Dated = confusion

My vote is kinda conditional on some new items having similar looks, color options and/or stat options of dated gears. I'll go into that at the end.
Remove dated gear recipies.
Leave current dated gear.
Totally optional > Provide a +1 spirit bond bonus to dated items (to help alot of them out the door ^^)
Do not list dated gear on markets. Only tradeable between player/player trade.
Remove dated ingredients or "midway" synthed items (aka the stuff that is only used in dated items, but not the finishd product.) So theres no hoarding of outdated ingredients that could somehow come back to bite.
Change Datted tag to something like Vintage. Maybe Inherited or Classic.
Now you have Classic gear. It can't be reproduced because someone hoarded all the mats for it. It can't be synthedcause theres no recipies for it. But those who have it, and like it, not only still have it, but have a nifty "Classic" tag on it.
It can't be sold in any way besides player trade which for a new player coming post 2.0 would make it a sort of "treasure hunt" if they got a piece of "classic" gear.
Why i said conditional in the beginning is because there are some noticable gear gaps in lower levels that could use some of the Datted skins. I'd rather not see thme disappear because i like some of them.
Some of the dated gear also has some stat bonuses that while not optimum on total, are slightly different enough that you can put them to use if your after a certain stat in that slow.
And also since i hold out hope for Vanity slots, i'd like anyone who comes later to be able to use some of the neat skins that the datted items have without having to find a datted item someone might have.
Also the reason for removing the half-finished items would be 1: because theres no need for them later so you don't need to transfer them when we switch from 1.0 to 2.0. and 2, on the off chance a new recipie comes out, theres less reason to worry about either using a past item again, and folks have alot of them, or making a very similar item that is slightly confusing cause someone may have the old one, and not the new one, and it won't synth.
Those would be my thoughts.

I like the recommendations of replacing the dated gear with relevant updated pieces.
Something along the lines of my Dated Leather Espadrilles would become "Leather Type" Espadrilles after conversion
But
I'm sure if they could do that they would have done it the first time around, no?
My Espadrilles have been through a lot with me, so I get the sentimental value stuff, however I would be happy if they would just add more Espadrilles into the game.
Currently the only non dated espadrilles are sub lvl 20 :|

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make edits to the database to replace a dated item with a newer item its equivalent in level, but you run into the issue of the newer items having class/job and level requirements which the dated equipment didn't really have.I like the recommendations of replacing the dated gear with relevant updated pieces.

not to mention there are several places dated gear would fit right in, for instance bronze armor set would be lvl 15 an the iron armor set could be lvl 25. there are also some pieces of gear will never see again should they nix dated stuff entirely.

Personally, I'd prefer to keep them. On my character I am posting with, I have couple Dated Canvas pieces for a roleplaying set that I really like. I probably have a few other dated pieces that I can't remember right now that I use, as well.
Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
