Chat filter is being abused for homophobic and transphobic purposes, please change.

I'm alarmed by the number of people who are using the chat filter to censor out "LGBT". I don't see any good reason why anyone would want to censor that out.

I'm really afraid that the chat filter is going to be abused for homophobic purposes. We are already seeing a lot of people doing exactly that by censoring out "LGBT".

Please change this, please. Prevent people from being able to filter "LGBT". We should not give people the tool to censor out real individuals they don't want to see.

I mean - I’m interpreting that particular filter as a way to catch some FC or local club ads that might be cluttering their respective chat boxes. Doubtful it’s a malicious act at all.

IDK about others but with me i'm planning to filter it because those advertisments are not targeted for me anyway and thus pointless filler in my chat. Besides that, where i'm from there's no need to highlight it as being something special so it just vaguely seems ridiculous to me. Especially if it's for some kind of event i'll just assume it's specifically for LGBT if you feel the need to advertise it and mention it, so again that wouldn't be targeted to me.

Seems like a pretty safe thing to filter. But you're worried about the 'bad' people filtering it right? Wouldn't that be in your favor as well though? If there are indeed hateful people and they'd filter you then that works in your favor, since you wouldn't want them to engage with you anyway.

That's what I thought of when I saw it too. Also to the OP, why you trying to control what people can and cannot see in their video game? if someone doesn't want to see sentences with "LGBT" that is up to them and not you.

They know that a large portion of the player base wont have to put up with their -redacted- so of course there will be someone on the forums crying about it.

I'm gay and i'm thinking of filtering it myself. Will be nice not to have to see all the shouting about it sometimes.
