DT install?

I heard some talk about “53G” in relation to the DT install. Does this mean one needs 53 free to make the install or does this mean that once installed it takes up 53 more than the current install?

I do have a secondary drive that has 400G free… but it’s not formatted NTFS but FAT (long story). So the question is can I copy all my stuff from C: to F: then run the updater? Or if I ca point the updater to that separate drive and have it take care of what to do. I read installs are starting now while the game is down….

Turns out I HAD 70g free so the question becomes is the 57G that is downloading added to my current installation of gets folded in as part of the current install?

The update adds +57GB (PC) and +52.7GB (PS5), so you will want free space on top of that to be safe, so around 140GB dedicated to the game as you need the space for the files and then the system to do stuff.

For example, the game required 75GB at Endwalker, add 57GB to that for the update, that's about 132GB total, but you need free space on top of that too, which they recommend the total size consume 140GB of the drives space to operate properly.

Edit: After installing the update, the total space consumed by the game is actually 98GB.

After installing, my ~80G I installation became 107G. It DID download 57G… it was not all added to the current install.

Need to get myself an SSD just for games, my main SSD I use for my OS is constantly hovering at 100 gbs & this took a good chunk out of it, need to clean some stuff up maybe, waa
