It depends on how lore strict you want to be, or how your DM will go when it comes to the tabletop if that's what it's for.

Personally I think they're both bad/generic, but if you must pick between the two, at least pick the second where it might make some semblance of sense lore wise.

Edit: Just so I'm not going full critic, I would make my own suggestions. Why not just be from a violent group in general who would raid others for survival? Perhaps your civilization would often go after others for food, wealth, status, whatever, but your character does it because they believe it's fun, or they simply enjoy the thrill of combat so much?

If you wanted to still use void stuff, perhaps the Lambs of Dalamud decided you were worth sacrificing to become a vessel, and maybe you were rescued halfway through a ritual. Your character was already a violent one by nature, and the combination of trauma that took place and the aether that partially took hold made you snap? Rescued too late so to speak.
