    It would be cool if Displacement was like...10 potency more than Engagement (RDM)

    I know how it used to be, and before anyone whines about damage-optimal movement abilities consider this:

    At 10 potency, you could realistically still never use Displacement and clear every Savage and Ultimate fight ever added to the game. It would not inconvenience you in any capacity if you didn't want to use it.

    HOWEVER, this would give people who really wanted to a reason to do backflips for (a tiny bit) more damage, which looks much cooler. As it stands, there is virtually no scenario where it makes sense to use displacement at all, which sucks because the ability is very goofy and fun-looking. You are almost certainly actively hindering yourself if you use it currently, which makes the ability feel bad in its current state.

    Honestly I think the easiest way to fix displacement is to make the backflip player locked instead of boss locked because then if you die with it, every time it would be your fault instead of getting unlucky with targeting jank.

    You can jank yourself with pretty much any rotation or ability. For example, if it was based off player rotation but still did damage, you would swing to face the boss and then backflip. Everyone who's played DRG or RPR on legacy controls has likely backflipped themselves at least once in the wrong direction, as well.

    The control scheme in FFXIV is really, really bad for facing in general. You either have unlimited movement but facing issues with legacy, or perfect facing but jank movement while on the move with standard, as well as bad backpedaling. It's just kind of sad how notoriously bad it is and it still hasn't been fixed.

    The best change to Displacement for me personally would be just to remove the damage component completely and the connection with Engagement, so it could fully live as movement. I feel that whenever they have a damage component, being ogcds, it completely defeats the premise of utility, because the moments where you could actually benefit from both (damage AND movement) are nearly none.
