Repeated Client/Game Crashes??

I have been noticing more frequent client crashes in the last few weeks that I have been playing, and I am not entirely sure why this is. I have updated as much as I could on the pc, did a defrag, disk clean up, and looked for any other updates that I may have missed. I'm playing on medium graphics and in window mode, as I can't play 2 seconds at a time in fullscreen with out crashing. The computer runs everything else flawlessly with high graphics with little stress, but for some reason I can't get XIV to NOT crash after 10 minutes or so.

Any insight or suggestions would be great.

The majority of client crashes is because of the Windows user account control (UAC). Something attempts to change on your pc, that triggers the UAC. When this happens the Directx Device stops and crashes FFXIV.

You can try and lower the restrictions on it, or just disable it to see if it helps. It is used to protect you from any un-authorized programs attempting to execute without permission. So, it's nice to have enabled.

this is not an issue involving un-installing and re-installing...there is more to the problem than that and its something that your team needs to fix please

I also have been noticing more crashing. This usually happens when they decide to use the same code from console on the pc. From my experience with other games. I hope they keep FFXIV pc native or allots peeps will start to flame. Again from my experience with other games . Ex BF3 & Skyrim

I get random crashes all the time now. From just running in the field, to crashing during cut scenes, they keep happening, at random. It's not related to windows administrative action prompts, the screen dimming that is set by default is what triggers DX errors with FFXIV, and I have already disabled to dimming of the screen for those. It's not really an 'Unable to play' type of problem either. Can still play, just the random crashes make it annoying. I just crashed on the CS for he ferry and had to get back on after coming back.

I am also having frequent crashes and it takes 10-20 minutes to log back on. What the heck is going on?
