Phoenix Down and Healing Pots

I don't really see this getting much attention since it's hardly used these days. However, I do think these healing potions needs a slight buff to them. The super potion falls off somewhere in the ShB content and pretty much useless by the time you hit EW content with them. It would be nice if I can actually find use for these instead of hardly healing anything while I'm in the current content.

Also, is it possible for us all to start using Phoenix Downs during battle? It's not like we're allowed to carry more than one in our inventory. It's not like it's easily accessible out of deep dungeons. It mainly just sits majority of the time.

Honestly, i feel as if potions being neglected kind of kills the point of alchemist, and same goes for phoenix down being able to only carry one and its outside of battle I think that should be what other classes have not heals and res as skills for other jobs, other jobs should have to use potions and phoenix down for that thing, make mp relevent and make people have to use ethers/elixers to restore mp

Hyper potions are useful. We get new ones with each deep dungeon release. Dark Knight in particular may desire them for non-raid content.

I can say I often use Potions in casual content.

I mainly carry Hyper potions, they act as a small sustain tool, great useage for something like pre-82 paladin or dark knight who lacks that sustain, less useful for non-tanks and warrior (outside of arr content), but it can actually be pretty neat.

I don't think we need Phoenix Down's in combat, I feel as that would somewhat ruin the balance of how rez works.

They exist more for deep dungeons than standard gameplay, and seem to only get updated for current expacs when deep dungeons drop.
That said, the heal from the hyper potions in eureka orthos is good, its really strong in lv 80 content, they shouldn't be discredited.

I occasionally use Hyper Potions when tanking earlier content as you don't quite have much sustain at those levels and I still like to pull as much as possible.

As for Phoenix Downs, people already complain that Summoners and Red Mages have the ability to revive, I don't think giving everyone access to it would go over too well. Some healers are already talking about striking due to boring gameplay and feeling unneeded, do we really need to add another reason to their list?

There's more to alchemy than just healing potions. Raiders go through a lot of DPS potions and alkahests are required to craft the best items and gear.

i use heal pots still they still come in a pinch from time to time especially useful on solo fate bosses and such.

As an Alchemist I was honestly surprised by how fast/well Hyper-Potions and Super Ethers sell. Wherever it is, someone is using them lol, I’d love to see updated versions / more reasons to use but I think there’s plenty of people using what we have already
