If you really want to level grind some mobs that give good gil, aldgoats are a good target as the horns sell for 5k each on the wards (on my server anyway) and you can always sell skins too
I always gather when I am out of leves though, couple hours for a million gil is pretty standard for a miner or botanist

I think we did level 21 opos in gridania at 17-21. 3 man party though, so you might have to adjust depending on your levels and classes.

A warning against aldgoat horns: they must be incapacitated to have a chance of dropping. You need to use skull sunder, bloodletter, spirits within, or concussive blow often and/or hard enough to break them (it will visibly appear broken off on the goat) and use it from the correct angle. I'm not sure if its horns require you to use it from the side or the front though. Incapacitation is a bit tricky.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions, tips, and comments. You guys are pretty cool, yo. Were happily going about our GC quests as of yesterday and will soon be level 30 and hopefully get some level 50s in a month or two.

Hats off to you for not going to the Power Leveling way. It might seem like most people do it that way, but the majority of players didn't for a while. Before 2012 came around it was all 8 levequests every other day and grind parties. After a certain patch, people found out how to power level. They patched that out but many have tasted the bittersweet fruit of easy and can't seem to stop.
Alot of people that have joined recently almost exclusively powerlevel. It's kind of lame, but not our business on how other players decide to skip content.

on week-ends I see shout for exp parties from level 15 or even level 1
unfortunately it's often by Japanese people and it can sometimes be hard to get into the group because of language
but if you do so, you will level up smoothly

I've found that comboing into Concussive Blow or other abilities that incap from the front is the best way

Why make a post about it then?
