Wanted: Chat filters

Don't like the constant RMT or clubhouse spam? How about letting us make them disappear:
1. Highlight identifying text, such as wwv.cheapgil.com
2. Right click it and select "block" from the dropdown.
From then on, any chat messages containing the blocked text no longer appear for you.

The new mute feature can do this, but it's keyed to the character name, so it will only work for the duration of the spammer's names, which change constantly.

They're already adding a separate keyword filter alongside the mute feature.

Can we get one for PF too? I'd love to exclude all parties with 'BLU', 'Blue Log', 'join as role and swap', etc. from my PF view.

All my blist slots are venue spammers now. They've gotten to the point they're even more of a pest than the RMT spam(if only because there's no end of those cycling so they're more like a permanent feature). The new chat filtering/blist system is going to be a welcome relief for making them all disappear.

I do wonder about the new blacklist feature's overall effect on venue spam. I don't think it will have much of one once people decide to use smurf alts, but at least something's getting kind of done about it, in that roundabout way.

Won't need to individually add the venue spammers to blacklist. Just use the new chat filters to block messages using words generally only seen in the venue ads. Venues (unlike RMT) don't have any reason to try to evade the filters.

They still don't have any reason to evade the player chat filters. The ones likely to filter are those who don't go to venues in the first place.

Normal RMT has to work to evade filters because it's SE doing the filtering. SE is unlikely to start filtering venues.
