I think it's probably a combination of our current tomes expiring in DT (early launch is June 28th), and the fact that this week's WT book could technically be turned in as late as July 2nd.

With that said, I would have preferred the regular tomes as well. I think I may have a couple more pieces of poetics gear to pick up for Pictomancer and Viper, so I guess there's that for a partial use..
