Why cant I turn in 10 single melded mailbreakers like turnins for hamlet? It would still be a gil sink (ie the coke you need to buy from hamlet and 2 crystal clusters for the synth)

because that's not how they decided to make it? don't say useless things XD

there are three types of people in the games, those who play and decide to tell others to stop complaining just cuz they have nothing to do but play, those who don't try hard enough and post their comments on a forum a million times and complain even though we have no real say in the game they just want to vent, and those who are just bored and just want a distraction. all of these have their ups and downs and will never get along because most of us think were better than others. if you really think about all we do here is kind of ridiculous but its so amusing =3 relic weapons will always be time consuming and a pain so either don't waste your time worrying about it or waste your time getting it! just have fun either way!

Everyone that is going after relic has no life apparently and should not reproduce.

i think the double meld part isn't the bad part about relics, what's worse is the fact that some relics use materia that pops out of every second spiritbond equipment (mind) while there are some others like enmity that seems to be alot more rare (i didn't check the price lately, but last time i saw it sold for 1,5 mil+ a pop)
that's the only part i would change about relics.i guess, while being on the relic quest it would be better to be able to buy special weapons/equip for seals that require more work to spiritbond them, but give special materia when being destroyed that will be used for the relic weapons.
this way atleast people with less gil won't feel like they're being cheated on by being those that have billions of gil and everyone has to put equal work into their relic, while still being under a portion of luck to actually get the dual meld to work.
it's just my way of how i see things.i don't actually think that those with less gil are at a disadvantage, as you can simply farm/spiritbond everything with a bit time and patience, but i think it's unfair to have relics require different materia, so it would be more fun to get rare/unique materia that will stay the same for every weapons, but will then again require you to work for, and not just be bought from the wards.

Asian MMOs always do horrible systems like these. Ragnarok Online did it, Aion did it, FFXIV does it, TERA did it as well.
Edit: And they're all dead, F2P or ancient.

I don't like that part of the quest but I don't complain about it. I just won't do it until 2.0
There's plenty of other shit to do other than relics.
I disagree, it's a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.
Double Meld is a good step - NOTHING of that besides the 100k/50k item form the Hamlet NPCs needs to be bought, you just have to work for it. You don't have a Miner? Well someone you do Hamlet with should. This quest isn't designed for soloplayers, it is way easier to overcome with a nice 8-man-party with people helping each other out.
The only part i dislike about this is the usage of the same materia on two jobs - PLD and BRD definately have a disadvantage here. Give them some easy materia to compensate that with 1.23 plz.
I'd rather turn in 1k tokens. but I think it would be cool to keep the quest also. hell, give the rich quest addicts a +1 wep, and token bums the regular one. that way the questies can still be elite and hardcore cool.
