Why are YOU POOR?? it takes 1 run of leve to get 40k and on top you get item that sell for 1-5k each...
so the reason you are poor is not a good reason

Even if this is sarcasm, this is an actual argument ppl use, so lets take a look at this

Hmmm 40k per leve, still requires 1k leves for 40m, and since there are ppl saying they sunk 150m into this that makes it about 4k leves give or take. If you use even 5 minutes for per leve you are still looking at 334 hours of running leves. Moreso if you consider the fact that most ppl cant kill off a leve in 5 minutes. Then there is real life to consider, something some ppl on here have.

So I can see being poor as a very good reason.

Being poor isnt a good reason and thats because making gil is so easy in this game. Players need to stop crying and go out and farm its that simple. Players just want things easier for little to no effort put into it. The more you farm the more items you can add to your retainer and sell, now if you dont farm than yes you are poor. You can make gear or buy gear and spirit bond it and than turn said gear into materia and make a pretty penny.

you can do 8 leves a day, at the highest tier, and easily earn 100k off drops + rewards, if not more, and thats less then an hours work.

so being broke is a choice, and you gotta be really lazy to be there or spend way too much on other stuff

so 4 hours a day aproximately 80 = days so you can't wait aproxiamately 3 months ? the content has been out for what 2 months now. So if you were doing leves for the past month you should have enough to buy it straight off the wards double melded by now. Because I see Double melds atleast on my server for 25 mil - 40 mil. Does not seem that hard if you have the patience to do it.

Ok so you go grind leves for 4 hours a day for almost 3 months-get back to me when you do-its the principle of the issue; if a weapon cost 3-4 times more then another on a ward its a huge discrepancy-thats like saying "oh you are going for the dragoon relic-go get 36 seals in hamlet instead of 9 seals..."

I really enjoy the "relics aren't for everyone" argument.

I also really enjoyed when people in XI cried when relics became for everyone, or other weapons outperformed relics and still do.

If skill is a deciding factor to obtaining an item, then that is absolutely okay if some players have no chance of ever obtaining the item.

If the deciding factor is an ability to acquire gil or materia, then you're looking at the acquisition of relics from a time spent playing perspective.

WoW handles content extension via 1 week timers on raids (though they have good drop rates); if the issue is making sure the content has longevity, I much prefer having to simply wait to acquire the items I want than spend hours grinding enough gil to maybe get lucky with a meld. The double meld process could be dropped entirely and the quest wouldn't suffer. People still wouldn't beat Ifrit Extreme or 17m AV/CC. You could even stipulate that some master craftsman requires the base weapon and 2 perfect TIV materia where he will painstakingly require 2 weeks to meld for you. You've still had to farm materia/put some gil down for your weapon, but the quest is no longer cockblocking you by saying "Play more hours each day, get more gil, hope you get lucky".

The Hamlet grind is okay, though it could use some retooling as it is still an RNG system.
