This is a Relic we are talking about here. Not a pet snurble. You can't just take the concept of one weapon and complain complain complain until you get your way. Some things in this game have to be difficult to achieve to retain any semblance of long term goals. Beleive it or not, having some things that is going to take you a long time to achieve regardless of the reasons is actually healthy for the game.

Next I'm going to hear you wanting a guarantee that you beat Ifrit Extreme in your first five tries.

Please, research your means before you start complaining. If you're after a relic you could always spirit bond items for gil or for the Meterial you need. Raw items are cheaply made and sold and can wind up being quite profitable to spirit bind and convert.

Alternatively if you don't want to be a crafter, there are multiple places in which you can farm for cash-cow monsters.

The Double Melded class specific weapons are not nearly the barrier you're trying to play them out to be. Save up, or find yourself a crafter and go for it yourself. Relics are designed to challenge a player at multiple aspects of the game, to achieve a weapon that is supposed to be superior to all others. Work for what you get.

And if you don't, then go for one of the many, many alternatives that are in the game now, or are coming from Skirmish.

Its not like I havent tried-I have made 9 attempts at the weapon (last 3 were hq) and our LS is already on the speedruns-the game shouldn't bar people from helping in fights like ifrit extreme

If you're having luck troubles, go the more certain route and pay for one on the markets. You've got the meteria somehow, which indicates you have the means gil wise to pay for a success flat out. Whether you are making the meteria (if so, SELL it to go after a market buy) or you are making the gil raw itself.

Playing the luck is playing the luck. Leave that to the gamblers if you're easily dissuaded by exploding equipment. (I happen to take a sadistic pleasure in it.)

On the issue of limits on the Ifrit entry, I might be convinced to agree with you. However that barrier for entry does insure that those who are participating are already well dedicated to the cause at that point.

Relic is for the hardcore, not the casual. Get over it. You can easily make 1m+ a day if you don't feel like putting in the time to craft your own weapon and spiritbond your own materia.

I am seriously going to beat you until battle tanks pull us apart.

relic is for me. i have it. i'm hardcore. i'm getting more.

the current use of materia is still stupid and unbalanced. it's poor design.

    get over it.

the examples aren't equivocal. in XI, relics blew everything else out of the water by a very large margin and were far and away the best weapons you could get for *years*

in XIV, the margin is slight. they're essentially only as much of an upgrade over garuda weapons as garuda weapons are over moogle weapons. it's a tiny step forward. comparing the two is silly.

and why are so many people who haven't made any progress on relic saying it's so easy? i'm not about to call it the hardest thing on earth, but do you have any experience with this at all? you do realize how few NA LSs have relic at this point, yes? no? o.O

seriously, you guys. if relic is such a walk in the park- where's yours?

Figured that would be the best argument anyone would have at this point. Don't worry, I will have it. I will screenshot it. I will show you. Mark this day. I've already got my double melded weapon and are almost done with the seal stage, which is easily the "hardest" part due to it's longetivity. Also, no, relics in XI didn't blow anything else in XI out of the water. I HAD one of those too when they were "the best weapons you could get for years" (It won't take long searching my name in FFXIAH to see that).

TL;DR: Quest is too easy. Will have a relic. Stop spending time QQ'ing and more time working torward it (or your 2nd/3rd). XI relics were not fantastic, and neither are the ones here.

I really hate how relics have been approached from difficulty level. You do hamlet over and over.. never improving in skill getting your 60 and 70k victories.

    No drops.

At least I can use the 15 minute break for productivity... It's just not in a realm of "difficulty" that I would expect, and unfortunately tends towards boredom and mindless grinding. My experience with it hasn't been enjoyable.
