alot of yall make good points. the content should be a challenge but like alot of people said, this relic weapons quest has truly seperated the community to the point that if you are just now starting the quest, you are pretty much screwed till 2.0 Not many or all ls are not recruiting due to the fact that you are behind. I have 3 double melded weapons mnk war and whm ready to go and defeated the stronghold nm but the 17min AV/CC runs jst killed all my hopes and dreams of getting relic. I do occasioanly can get in to 25 mins speed runs but the drop rate for the items need for the relic should have been better instead of RNG like darklight. This game lack progression and i can see how that can truly disturb a players motivation. But hey ill just keep going and hopefully a ls will start recruiting people who really wanna complete relics.

I see this as a problem with all content in this game. Practically no one wants to go back and help anyone with "old" content once they have what they need/want from it. I was 8/9 seals for 3 weeks, half the time i couldn't find 8 ppl who still wanted to do hamlet. The other half was spent in hamlet not getting drops because people bail as soon as they get one seal forcing you to find a rep who will do the same. There was even at least one point in that time period where Hyrstmill (last seal i needed) didn't even get to rank 2 so my shot at getting a seal was zero to none.

How many people do you know still doing Ifrit/Moogle/Garuda aside from a casual social LS gathering (which fails on Garuda anyway)? Even regular CC/AV runs barely happen now, much less the 17 or even 25 minute ones.

One could say this is the players' faults for being dicks and not helping everyone get on the same page, but those same people would probably argue that it's the game's fault for providing such horrid drop rates that they got burned out on the content.

Maybe if "casuals" weren't so riddled with envy and jealousy the "community" wouldn't have been divided. (By "community" you just mean lodestone forum posters, yes?)

Why did these stupid threads never used to appear back in the BG, KI, etc days?
Did the mods just delete them because they're so whiney and dumb or did people just not crave what other players had so much?

    "To the forums!"

See now this is just proving my point. If you can put 40 hrs into the game and something is not on par with what you can do you can QQ and be considered having a valid suggestion but if your a casual and you wanna QQ cause you are excluded from parts of the game your considered whiney and dumb. It has nothing to do with some strange freudian weapon envy.

What I was talking about, and it's starting to happen already, is that ppl are getting excluded due to not the fact that they "suck more" but due to the fact they dont have triple melds and are on mythic quests. Which is why I use xi as an example, DD empy only is common as will DD mythic only here be at some point which causes alot of exclusion. And attitudes like this both on and off the forums is why.

And there is nothing wrong with having gear only a few ppl can have, mythics in xi are like that, but they dont cause a large number of the playerbase to not be able to enjoy the content of the game.

Really showing your hand when you mention KI as some sort of place for relevant information, a fact that was never true.

(That means you're full of shit)

As far as BG, these threads do exist, have existed, will exist. The difference is people have a discussion about how games aren't supposed to be fuck you RNG systems which promote no lifing as a way to get gear; rather that games should promote skill and challenging content while using other systems (such as longer raid timers) to prolong the length of the quest.

If you think anyone at BG finds owning relics a challenge, they do not. A relic in XI was never a challenge at any point - all it took was money, and that's an easy reward for someone who wants to farm/craft/fishbot a lot and enter Dynamis 3 times to get their finished weapon.

Any Salvage thread was filled with "This system is dumb" "We don't even get a chance to fight the NM (Bhaflau)" "My group is 0/300 on Ares/Machas body" "We just got double Bodb's Cuffs from LAC again" etc.

Any Voidwatch thread is filled with "This system is dumb" "The guy next to me got the same item 3/6 fights" "Why is there no progression in this content" "I am 0/600 on my Toci's Harness" etc.

In fact, the vast majority of people support systems that reward progression of some form over all out RNG systems. (Not RNG progression like totems) For example, win 40 runs in AV, pick 1 piece of Darklight. This type of system actually makes content more accessible because if you are in a linkshell running 17/25m clears with ease, there is also incentive to help PUGs because while you may not get to roll on your Corselet because you won't 25m or less, you'll still get that item which lets you pick a piece of gear after however many wins.

    tl;dr
Chumming up to a website and pretending it is like-minded to you is fairly ignorant.

Ooooh. I see what happened here. You're a BG poster and got all forum territorial with your panties in a bunch when I said I don't remember BG being full of "QQ it's too hard" or "elitiz vrs casual" threads.
Sorry to burst your bubble but BG is not full of "relevant information" lol.

You're not one of those people who believe if they have 463,283,284 posts on BG they're some kind of authority on all things Final Fantasy, right? Because that would be pretty embarrassing.

Nah, my authority comes from a mathematical understanding of the statistics or calculations I may be referencing. This is an infallible authority, so it is the preferred one.

Also, this is why 2.0 better be saturated with content. Then and only then will people stop worrying about what they can't do (instead of what they can) or worrying about what someone else is doing or getting or beating (those darned elitists!!) and simply focus on themselves. Hopefully at that point they shut these forums down and bring back Tanaka for SE/whiner relations.

My LS mumble motto will probably help some of you out:
    "Suck less, do more."
