Very important feature: Windowed Full screen

This is a really important feature missing in the game. Everyone who has ran the game in full screen and windowed mode should know what I mean (and that neither of those are the same as windowed full screen mode).

This is important and I don't think it would be too difficult or time consuming to implement.


Full screen: You can't look up information unavailable in game from the internet.
Windowed mode: You either play a smaller resolution and so having a screen that is too small for your computer screen - or you play the resolution of your screen to have a full size screen only to see that the bottom 1-2cm of your screen is missing.

Full screen modes needs to be alt+tabable = windowed full screen.

There are ways to make windowed full screen-able. Not sure if its supported by SE or not, but.

One way is to use Windowed mode and use a Borderless Window Script, which will generally work on ANY program, not just FFXIV.

Not the same as an official fix for Windowed Fullscreen, but helps at the very least.

If you're just looking to surf the net, a borderless window script is easy to find and use. And I doubt it really violates the ToS, but can't say that for sure.

In any case, the other problem is getting Crossfire to work. That requires an actual full screen mode, not windowed mode without a border.

Yes, YES and YESSS!
I play with two monitors. When I am running full screen on my main monitor, my other is open for internet access. If I click anywere on the monitor not running the game, the game instantly shuts down. This is not good. Alt+tab and duel monitor support!

Well... just to bump the interest.

I AGREE with having the ability to maximize the client while in windowed mode. I love the 1080 format and would have no issue with black bars on the top and bottom, it's just cumbersome.

In the end... If we had a patch one day, that allowed the user to click the maximize button, and it filled up the screen, it would be a ...

"Cool!"... love it!

The game should:

A) Have a full-screen windowed option.

B) Be able to be alt-tabbed while using the "full screen" option.

Just do it SE. It's ironic that the whole idea of crashing the game when alt-tabbing is to stop people from using third party programs, and yet I had to download a third party program SPECIFICALLY to combat this option. Hilarious.

Windowed Fullscreen mode would be nice, its a pretty basic feature most MMOs have. There are ways to make the game act just like windowed full screen though. Shiftwindow being one of them that works for lots of games, set your configuration to windowed mode and your resolution to your desktop resolution and use shiftwindow to force it to fullscreen with no borders.

Please do this. This is a common feature in PC games. I'm able to easily do this through a custom script with a couple lines of code. This should have done ages ago. It's been long enough, SE. There's no excuse for this feature not being added yet. Get it together already.

Until SE implements it, I suggest ShiftWindow, just use google and you'll find the program easily. This program provides no advantage to any gamer for any reason so I fail to see how it would be against ToS. It's not SE's decision as to how I view programs on MY computer.
