    Mac/iPad support

Now that xbox platform is being added, how long will it be until the Mac version of the game is allowed to be distributed on the iPad as well, as both feature the same M1 requirements and the new M4 is much faster now, leaving the only requirement being the usage of a controller like all the big AAA games being released on the device, maybe not Dawntrail but the next dlc? Making use of the dynamic resolution on by default the game doesn't necessarily needs to look like it should in a high end device, and it would make the second portable device to have an MMORPG, the iPad having low gaming audience is the result of no real AAA games being ported to the platform, no games are being ported because there's little interest, this cycle can be mended if the devs make the first move, and porting a game from M1 Mac to iPad shouldn't take that much resource and it would a line with the motion of trying to bring FFXIV into all platforms.

While they use the same silicon, the iPad uses a different OS.

Apps that run on ios still don't run on macos as is. It's not happening.

The iPad does not have enough RAM to run the game. To run the game at 4K on a Windows PC requires 6GB of video memory. The iPad only has 8GB of RAM. The computer still needs 8GB of RAM. The only iPad that could conceivably run it is the iPad Pro models with 1TB or 2TB of storage.

That said. Playing 14 on the iPad would probably not be that fun. You'd either need a controller or you'd need to play it in "strictly mouse" mode. Which that is one way I have played, I usually only completely play that way with crafting because it's too hard to move and cast with just a standard 3 button mouse. So the controller would probably be preferred.

As for Mac support. Well there "IS" a mac version (wine/proton wrapped windows version,) just not good mac version since it's not native.

    * Mac systems utilizing the Apple Silicon chipset must have Rosetta installed.
