Playing single-player games and playing MMOs feels different to me, which is why I still return to play FFXIV because I want to play with other people online. However, not everyone can manage to find the perfect FC or friends they are looking for. Some players just want to be in a party just to clear that content, some do not wish to connect to anyone deeply. Some may have other commitments that cause them to either quit or reduce the time they play.

I enjoyed playing with my FC at a certain point in time; everyone was so active. We were playing savage trials, clearing one after another and bringing us together so closely. We were having fun. But good moments seem to be like a curse; they never last long. Soon, one by one, members of the FC quit or jumped to other worlds. Nobody is at fault here; that is how the world works. However, it takes some time to find such an FC again. The feeling of loneliness can be unbearable. In the end, at some point, I stopped playing altogether. But people keep coming back to the game. I know I would, since it's a good game. People like to be given plenty of options and endless variety in their games, an MMO game that has an option to help fill the gap of loneliness while you journey to find the perfect FC or friend(s) once again. A timeless option that stands the test of time and the perfect companion that is always waiting for you to log in.
