Perfect Companion

AI technology has evolved. AI is no longer just a series of pre-written instructions to do a series of actions. It has come to a point where it can learn, adapt, think on its own, and generate its own set of actions. A lot* of games are incorporating* these higher intelligent AIs as their NPCs or use them to generate content.

As for humans, we need interaction. Without any form of interaction, loneliness will seep in. No matter how introverted a person is, he or she* also needs interaction. It's just a matter of how much. That's why we have family, loved ones, friends, and acquaintances. But no one* is perfect. We have been in search of the perfect other half. Some manage to find their better half, some better halves may have passed on, some struggle, and some give up because everybody has different expectations. And there is no one* other than ourselves who knows what we want. If we had the power to create the perfect other half, wouldn't it be the answer?
We cannot do that in real life, of course. Not now, that's for sure. Maybe in the future, we will be able to. But if we are talking about games, fantasy games?* We already create our perfect avatar to play in the world of Final Fantasy. Why can't we create another avatar, input the expectations we hope for our other half to have? And voilà, we have the perfect companion. We can interact with him or her, talk about everything, and he or she will reply accordingly. But what he or she replies with isn't pre-written. It's generated by the expectations you input into him or her.

Why? Why, you ask. What if we already have our better half in real life? How many better halves are there who are able to play games anytime you want? It's either they're not interested or busy. With this interactive companion, if you want company, just summon him or her out, and he or she will interact and accompany you, fight alongside you, or go questing, gathering, crafting, or dungeon crawling with you. And if you want to be alone, just dismiss him or her, and he or she will hold no grudge against you.

To summarize everything, we will be able to create the perfect avatar and design the personality we want them to have. Embark on an adventure with your ideal companion and never be bored or lonely again. What would Final Fantasy be without romance? Please consider my suggestion, Square Enix. I heard about this game. Yes it is similar to the main pawn but what I wanted is more freedom interactive. I would like my companion to talk to me about everything. From in game to non in game subjects. They will have true memories of what we did before or what I said before. Able to start a topic with me. Anything you can think of for being perfect. Of course, they cant be too smart or as strong as well as it will cause imbalance in game.

I heard ages ago now that people had already made chatbots based on FFXIV characters, so they could certainly do it, but it's costly and reliant on a number of delays that can slow the response down. It will likely be more viable when hardware intended for AI is implemented directly into GPUs, as it is already starting to be, because then it will likely put less load on the GPU than it currently does.

I could certainly imagine being able to have a dynamic conversation with Y'shtola about other shards. We wouldn't learn anything new, since it would be based on all the lore we've been given in the MSQ already, but it'd still make it more real.

True. Personally, I spread my social interaction across hundreds of people throughout the day, which FFXIV greatly assists me with achieving.

That really depends. For a lot of people, no. For some people, yes. For the people who would say yes, they may be the ones content with single player games or who buy robots, toys and teddy bears and now may be contented by chatbots.

I'm not gonna say they are wrong. It's a state of mind. For a period of time, people may be content with a robot, a single player game character, or a teddy bear. At a different point in their lives, they may change their mind.

For some people, it may just be too difficult to find friends due to disabilities that lead to discrimination or a lack of interaction.

I think a lot of people actually help their loneliness by getting pets though.

I think this is going too far. It would be one thing for an MSQ character to talk in-character, but another thing entirely to create a fake player in a multiplayer game. I think this should remain the domain of single player games. If this is something you would want to do, I would suggest either creating a video game yourself, or using ChatGPT's feature to create a custom chatbot.

However with that said I really want to have a hot vampire guy in game that i can date and have stuff. I mean id love to create one that travels along side me and uses what your talking about..

tbh i would love this, since it adds more of the rpg aspect which xiv has so little of the rpg aspect.. which is why it will never happen sadly ppl get hung up on the "mmo" part as if it means anything when all it means is massive multiple players online that's it, you can have that just by it being an online game period lol they need to focus on rpg aspects more

This is kinda… elaborate… lol not saying I wouldn’t totally make one if it was an option. But I’d settle for just being able to pose retainers in gpose, choosing their emotes and my characters, as well as the retainer permit working inside and outside one’s house, and giving them the option to interact with furniture. And/or being able to take retainers with me as companions, kind of how the chocobo works, to help me grind fates or gather materials.
