I really wish i could bring my chocobo into bozja/eureka, Or even use it in unsynced instances.
Maybe with beast master, this could be a thing? Maybe our lil bird will be one of BST's pets and it'll get a updated ability tree

tbh i hope beastmaster allows us to modify our chocobo companion with other beast which can make the companion get evolved upon
I would want a new caster dps skilltree for the Chocobo.
(Move the Black Mage barding from the achievment vendor over to the rank 10 reward)
Tanking is usable but aggro generation could be further buffed.
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
It'd be cool to get some new abilities for your chocobo companion. Maybe teaching them their own Choco Meteor (that I know Blue Mages can cast) for the DPS role, Esuna for the healer role (it gets annoying when I'm doing FATEs and get paralyzed or slowed), and Cover for the Tank role (the Tank role feels pretty useless as you can easily steal back aggro by pressing your buttons normally, Cover would let you utilize the chocobo's tankiness regardless).
They won't. The Chocobo literately outlived it's usefulness with the end of ARR. Since the chocobo doesn't follow mechanics, it would not be useful in a dungeon, and it's unlikely the developers are going to let you train(program) the chocobo to do so.
I’d really like all of these! Especially the Esuna, because my choco’s reaction time isn’t the greatest, so he always gets hit with the debuffs and he could cleanse himself as well as me. lolIt'd be cool to get some new abilities for your chocobo companion. Bozja & Eureka for the non-dungeon instances would be great as well. A little back-up healing for when there’s not as many people in an instance and you just want to do bunny fates or slow leveling.
The chocobo is extremely cursed. It took them literally years to get it so you could queue while you had a chocobo out. There was also talk way back in the early days of arr about adding new companions, specifically citing the magitek mount but here we are a decade later and no dice.
Trusts effectively ended any chance of them allowing chocobos in duties. At least they still have use when you're out and about though.
Squadrons, on the other hand, were a complete flop despite coming out *years* later. If any system needed an overhaul, it's that. But it's unlikely they'll ever bother with it for the same reason.
I've heard that they're planning to retrofit command missions with the Trusts/Duty Support AI, but who knows when that's coming, if indeed it is. I doubt it means they'll ever fully fix the whole Squadron system anyway (or fully implement the cut ranks, etc., to the GC stuff at large), but still.Trusts effectively ended any chance of them allowing chocobos in duties. The thing is, the trusts are an answer to toxic PUG DF. So if the healers want to strike, they can basically avoid all DF content by using only the NPC trusts. DPS and Tanks meanwhile don't like the NPC trusts as much because they can't go wall to wall with them. The trusts are somewhat dumbed-up versions of the squadrons.I've heard that they're planning to retrofit command missions with the Trusts/Duty Support AI, but who knows when that's coming, if indeed it is. The squadrons don't follow combat mechanics (don't know if they do now either since I haven't checked), the trusts do, But this is why you are limited to who are "trusts" (playing the same content with the trusts and the squad is very different), the squad basically requires a lot of "engage, dis-engage" to avoid party-squishing mechanics, because the squad follows your movement, while the trusts follow a scripted movement for each entity.
PUG > Trusts > Squad > Chocobo
In most cases, the trusts are "good enough" that you can play the content and not have to wait for the queue. But it's pretty clear that Squad and Chocobo could be improved to have the scripted nature of the Trusts, but I don't ever see them bothering to. The squad continuing to exist after Stormblood doesn't really have a reason to be used, because "We too back Ala Mhigo", there's no reason to keep a standing army around now. Endwalker only solidified that, by taking out the Garleans as the big-bad.
