think its a great ideal, should have an opt out function sure, but its definitely needed, one this game fees so lonely at times, a way to chat with people, advertise your FC, or even announce a hunt train without the need for being in 10 different linkshells and 3 discord servers to know its forming, it will need a right click report function for offenders, but all and all its needed.
seams pointless not to. NN is already used as 1 and even has its own social hierarchy. just dont let free trials post in it if u wanna block rmt. and ofc. venue shout ads are already against TOS, so yea theyll show up in that chat, and get muted/reported like they already do
It would just be a spam fiesta like it is in Wow. The more we connect, the less we do. I don't want to see your venue spam or your Barrens chat. I would leave it immediately.
"You haven't proven that it is safe, you've (only) proved that you can't figure out how it's dangerous."
Aslong as one can leave this chat, why not.
NN is a bad example and in my opinion is populated by people who are present not to help sprouts and rather there enjoy massaging their own inflated egos whilst having a neat little private chat channel in game. I can see why some people are hesitant for a feature like this to be implemented in the game given the daily Gil Seller spam when you enter a city, however it may be useful. My only concern here would be that it would end up becoming to FFXIV what Barrens Chat was to Warcraft:
So long as the ability to "opt out" existed, I don't really see the overall harm.
